Great place to stay if you are a diver.Posted Jan 24, 2015
I travelled alone and first and most importantly, I felt very safe in the West Bay and West End area. Actually, I felt safe in tge entire Idland, Such a great place to travel for diving and sight seeing. I am not an everything included concrete and pool resort type. I am more into the Ocean, Beach, wood and easy going type. Bananarama was the perfect place for me. I travelled to Roatan for diving and the resort had everthing I needed. I stayed in the garden area where It is very quiete and could get the early evening rest I needed for diving. The dive shop is about 20 seconds for the rooms in the Garden Area. The dive staff made everything easy and ajusted to the level of diving that showed up for the dive in AM. When too much difference between the group, they spilt in two boats, so everything enjoy the dive. If weather is not good on one side of the Island, they take you on tge other side. There always a dive guide that takes you and show you the main interest of the dive, but once they know you are a competent diver, they will not babysit you either. I have been diving for 18 years and I've been an intructor for 8 years and found the dive staff was really well balanced between, Safety, Regulation of the Marine Park and fun. It is an Eco Friendly dive center and have very passionate dive staff. For those that are complaining about the noise on the resort, they probably stayed on the beach side. The Garden Side is very quiet and perfect for divers.

Its like staying with old friendsPosted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: The friendly welcoming staff, the beautiful beach almost on top of a gorgeous coral reef, lots of tree and flowers throughout the resort.
Cons: The rooms are clean and functional but a bit dated. Updating would make the rooms wonderful.
Location: the location is great... right on the beach. the activity info center can is the best on the West bay and they can set you up with anything you like;
The resort is a quaint little Eco-friendly resort boasting the friendliest staff in West beach and the best entertainment either day or night on the entire beach. Guests from other resorts end up at Bananarama because it is the most fun. The staff take the time to get to know you by name and treat you more like a visiting friend that a guest. The resort amenities include a full 5 star PADI dive training center with instructors on staff. 4 dive boats which can carry about 12 diver but the shop limits trips to 8 or 10 divers to make diving more enjoyable. The dive staff are the most friendly and helpful that I have ever met, they will go to incredible lengths to help resolve any problems you might have to ensure you enjoy you stay. The bar and restaurant staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The resort boast entertainment every night - most of the time very talented live entertainment. On Sundays they hold charity hermit crab races to help the local children's charity followed by fire dancers, all of which is amazing fun. Whether you are there to dive or chill on the beach, I recommend Bananarama 100%.

Reasonably priced and a wonderful locationPosted Mar 31, 2013
Pros: The staff, the beach and the food were great as well as the privacy in relation to the location of the beach and the public areas.
Cons: Take your bug spray and use it as they recommend or you will get bitten. It would have been nice to have a little bit firmer pillows.
Location: It is an ideal location as far as the beach, snorkeling and places to eat and drink.
We had a top floor garden room with a futon and it was located close enough to the beach, bar and restaurant but far enough away to have some quiet time. The reception team of Danery, Denise, Victoria, Sarah and Silvi were wonderful and very helpful when we had an issue with one of our bags being left at the airport by a taxi driver. Do yourself a favor and stick with Bananarama's transportation. The security staff was always present and very friendly as were the owners Jeff, Guy and Louis and their managers Joanie and Sheba. The food was very good especially the brick oven pizza and the taco salad and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. Carolina and Jessica took care of us for most of the week and they were two of the best waiters ever. During the week when the cruise ships came in we stayed on the beach behind the gate for the Island/Vintage Pearl so we didn't have to deal with the crowds. We hope to visit again next year.

Pros: The pizza.
Cons: The activity guy. He stole $10 from me.
Location: Really nice beach.
Recommended for families and couples. Really cute and rustic hotel, with really nice people (except the activity guy, he stole $10 from me). You have to try the pizza from Pizzarama they are to die for. Not recommended for lunch, theres no so mane plates on the menu.

Expectations set too highPosted Sep 18, 2012
Pros: Ask and you shall receive!
Location: Roatan's West Bay has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. The people are the friendliest you'll find.
The first day we arrived the water in the bathroom smelled very bad. We know that the water is very well treated but I know that this happens on Roatan island from time to time. The complimentary breakfast, though tasty, left us feeling still hungry. All in all, we had a great weekend. The beach, the snorkelling, the service are all first rate.

Great beachside getawayPosted Aug 18, 2012
Great rooms with a real beach cabana feel. Free drink, use of sun lounges is a nice touch. The staff were very polite and helpful.

A tropical camp for adultsPosted Oct 26, 2011
Location: West End
If you want an economical, tropical place to stay and you are a diver, than this is the place for you. If you want luxury and are not a diver, than stay else where. Absolutely DO NOT travel to Roatan in October or November (the rainy season). Even though the weather was not good and we shortened our trip to only one night, we had a lovely visit. Corey, Rhoule and the rest of the staff are very accomodating and down to earth people. Karoeokee night at Bananarama was a blast and our visit to the tropical park "Gumbalimba" was one of the greatest places I have ever been to. Awesome scenery, lots of history, tropical birds and the highlight are the monkeys. You actually get to feed them, hold them and interact with them. One of the best things on the island!
