Staff bent over backwards to please usPosted Jul 27, 2013
Pros: Great service, fun and caring staff, adorable animals and mischievous monkeys everywhere, comfortable bed, air conditioning, good beverages, diving
Cons: Minor room flaws such as lack of shower knob (still usable), varying water pressure (again, a call the front desk - they are working on fixing it all)
Location: Rent a car or a bicycle! Taxi rides even 10 minutes away anywhere on the island are like $20+. The hotel helped us find collectivo taxis (cheap).
My friend and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. We knew coming in that it was not going to be like any fancy resort in Mexico, but we were surprised to find that it had its own charm! I liked it better! The hotel staff were kind, helpful, friendly, and courteous. It was easy to converse with them and make friends. The bartender was lively and funny. There was a good choice of all-inclusive beverages, and the food was decent. If you find that you do not like the buffet food, I suggest ordering the food a la cart between mealtimes (also all-inclusive), as the quality is much higher. It is not bad though, just made in large quantities, and thus, harder to make perfect. The beach was BEAUTIFUL, with a view that is hard to say goodbye to. Bring bug spray, sand fleas inhabit the entire island! The diving and dive instructor made our trip especially fantastic. My friend and I were first-time divers, and she had a panic attack when we got in the water. The dive master was able to calm her, and we ended up spending hours exploring the breathtaking beauty of the reef. The hotel has recently been purchased by new owners. The old owners left the hotel in (shall we say) less than perfect condition, but the new owners are doing absolutely everything they can to put it all back together. A call to the front desk will always solve any room issue. I left my phone there accidentally, and they helped send it back to the U.S.! I would go again in half a heartbeat!

Five star location, facilities need workPosted Jul 3, 2013
Pros: The food was great; I could always find something I liked on the buffet. And the staff couldn't have been nicer.
Cons: The facilities needs a major overhaul.
Location: Dive dive dive.
This hotel is in a five star location, it has a five star staff and the dive operation is five star, but the rooms need a lot of attention. Since we didn't spend a lot of time in the rooms, it wasn't a major problem, especially since the AC cranked. Personally, I couldn't have been happier. Since the lack of "resort class" facilities is pretty much consistent with the reviews I've read, I think it scares off people who want to be pampered. We were looking for a cheap vacation with great diving. And that's what we got. Going during the "off season" meant that we had very few other divers there, and that made for very enjoyable dives. Heck, there's a 168 foot wreck next to a DC-3 that you can shore dive from the beach. And then there are excellent wall dives, abundant sea life and good visibility. Spent a lot of time spearing lionfish, which is my new favorite sport. If you're an experienced diver who wants a bargain, go here. I'll be back.

Decent place to stay for the pricePosted May 28, 2013
Comfortable. The towels and bed sheets have some stains on them probably from being close to the ocean but should not be an excuse.

Familly rest and relaxation.Posted May 24, 2013
Pros: location, beach 5 meters from our room.
Nice location, perfect for family with children. Island is beautiful and felt safe. Beach is clean perfect for basking in the sun with a small swimming pool near by. staff very nice and aiming to please. Good snorkeling waters at the spot. Food was fine, again , perfect for feeding picky children (wonderful fish with every meal) and consider that all island prices are pretty much as in US (if not more)The hotel is a bit run down, rooms clean but with sighs of wear and tear. Overall good value: great swimming, nice place to rest and relax.

Great hotel for families or couples at great pricePosted May 21, 2013
Pros: Amazingly beautiful beach
Cons: Hotel is old, but clean
Location: Paradise on earth
The location of the hotel is a paradise on earth. The staff service was excellent. Our rooms were clean. The hotel is old, but they are going to remodel it, they say. The food was great. The desserts not so good. I would definitely recommend it for families with children and for couples on honeymoon. The price was very good for what we got. We were there with teenagers and child and didn't want to leave. It is a safe place, perfect for resting and enjoying the marvels of the sea.

Great hotel for family and couples.Posted Apr 23, 2013
Pros: The private beach.
Cons: In low season there are no extra activities.
It´s located in a really good spot of Roatan´s Island, but its maintance is not the best. But i was there in low season. You can rent a taxi to move throw Roatan all over just by 60 dollars, from the resort.
