Wonderful accommodations for cheap price.

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Accommodation cost was $22 per night through Expedia and was as satisfying as my stay last weekend in another Tunica Hotel for over $300 per night. Fitzgerald Casino was fun and exciting with an offer of a variety in entertainment. Young ladies assigned to front desk may benefit from more training or managements' demand that they be more attentive to customers during business by refraining from engaging in personal conversations between themselves and smacking gum is a no no!

The price

I find it affordable for a last minute trip. If you like to gamble it has a smoking and nonsmoking area. It has a variety of games to play

Not a bad.

Not bad if passing through. Check-in was long since they only had one person working. Room was some what clean. Carpets could use a cleaning. Coffee maker was broken.

You get what you pay for

Pros: The room rate was great. Staff very friendly.
Cons: Add free wifi, frig and microwaves in rooms.
Location: Memphis wasn't too far away. My daughter enjoyed the Riverwalk and Aquarium nearby.
No frig, no microwave, no free wifi. Had to screw in a screw so the door would close right. Wouldn't allow us an extra cot in room (fire hazard). All the Hotel employees were very friendly though.

Nice enough, especially for smokers.

Pros: Pool and hot tub and the staff were amazing.
Cons: The buffet food was pretty blah except for the Mongolian grill. On the other hand, if you can't get full at a free buffet, you weren't raised right.
Location: The Fitz is by itself and you'll have to drive a short distance to any of the casinos.
I showed up 1 hr early before the 3pm check-in. They nicely told be 3pm firm, but let me check in 15 min early anyway. The bellman cheerfully followed me way out to the parking lot then showed me a much closer place to park (look for the parking lot around back instead of out front with the staircase from hell). The room was a typical room except there was not a single piece of paper. No notepads, phone book, menus or adds from local places. Very odd, but hey, for $22 a night, if it keeps the costs down, I am GOOD with that. The pool and hot tub where fabulous and best of all, NO KIDS under 18 (I heard another guest with a child whining about that). The buffet food is plain, and repetitious (I was there weekdays so can't comment on weekend specials) BUT I found out you barely have to gamble any to get the buffet for free on your casino club card. I ate 2 suppers, 1 lunch and 1 breakfast for free - $53 dollars worth. Other guests assured me this was the best casino to gamble and I can't disagree. I ate and drank for free, and came home with exactly the same amount of money I brought with me. It's not a fancy place, but it was good cheap fun. Oh, and non-smokers...good luck, you'll probably hate this place. I am a smoker and I appreciated going to a place that didn't treat me like dirt.
