“Would definitely go back again!!”
The service and staff were excellent. The breakfast was excellent. It was very clean and very comfortable.
“Good Value”
My wife and I stayed there for a week in October, 2011 while visiting the Mayo Clinic. It is located just off the main road leading into the city. About a five minute drive to the Mayo. A free shuttle runs every hour, on the hour, from the hotel to the Mayo. There are numerous shopping malls and restaurants in the area. It was easy to find things and get around. The hotel is reasonably priced for the area and offers a discount for those visiting the Mayo. The exterior and interior are well maintained, but the rooms and furniture can use an updating. I can't recall the last time I watched TV on a CRT. Our toilet leaked and even though we notified the front desk, no one came to fix it during the week we were there. Each room has its own AC/Heating unit. We were there in the fall, so on some days we needed cooling, and on other days we needed heat. My only major complaint is that the room unit would cycle off long before the room was cool or warm enough, then come back on ten minutes later. Someone from the front desk came to the room to check it, then said he would have the maintenance people change the unit the following day. They never did. However, he did offer to put us in another room, but we were already settled in and didn't want to move everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. Free breakfast is served in the lobby and fresh coffee and cookies were available 24 hours a day. Our room was comfortable and clean and we would definitely stay there again.
“Nice hotel-hard to get to”
Nice hotel-only problem was finding our way to it. We stayed here a few years back, but road costruction changed the entry off of the highway. They could use some signs to tell you what exit to take to get to the back frontage (even that seems backwards!) road. Overall, nice breakfast, nice rooms, liked the fridge/microwave and excellent cookies in the afternoon. Good value for the price. BTW the firepalce in the lobby area doesn't work-just for show-what a pity!
“will go back”
super comfy beds, nice breakfast, snacks all day long, books to take, daily paper, exercise room, hot tub, pool...5 star hotel
“Great place to stay.”
Wonderful staff. Had to change rooms due to a light not working, but they were quick and courteous. Only issue is getting to the hotel as you need to double back on an access road. Definately would stay there again. Loved the quiet area especially since I was recoverying from a head procedure and didn't want any noise. Downtown Rochester was having a lot of road repairs so that would have been very noisy. There was a free shuttle to the Mayo, the same shuttle used for all the major hotels, but did not use. I was fasting so we did not get to enjoy the breakfast, but it smelled delicious.
“looking forward to next time”
Great place hard to get to
“A pleasant stay.”
Nice room, pleasant staff, and easy to find. My next trip I'll stay here again. Breakfast has a wide variety of choices.
“Not Impressed”
We go to Rochester every year for a family reunion and this year I thought I'd pick a different hotel. Our floor was a non-smoking floor but I suspect that at one time it was smoking, our room smelled of smoke masked w/ febreeze. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were very small. The last night we were there we went for a swim in the pool but the chemicals were so strong our eyes were watering. While the staff was very polite and welcoming, the facilities were not at all what I expected. Next year were going back to our normal hotel closer to town.
“Clean rooms, good breakfast, more affordable than others.”
For the price, this hotel offered a nice breakfast with clean rooms and good service. They have a nice pool area and complimentary cookies in the evening. The location is on the southern edge of Rochester, but not way out of the city. I would definitely come back there to stay.
“better than I expected”
rooms were clean and fresh, amenities were better than average, staff was friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive, tv supported closed captions, pool/hot tub area and gym were clean and open 24/7. We only had one problem, no cots/rollaways and the beds were not movable.
