Pros: Location
Cons: A lot
Location: Mayo Clinic
Perfect location, Close to Mayo Clinic, free parking but old, ugly, noise from the street, no conditioner.

Cons: Bathroom & temperature control.
Room was very small. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. The bathroom really needed updating. It was definitely not handicap accessible which was not a problem for us. Was interesting to see the old architecture as I was a student at Methodist almost 50 years ago. It was a step back in time.

Pros: It was so close to the clinic and subway system that the weather was never an issue. Very quiet for being right downtown.
Cons: It is an old building, but renovations are being done.
Check in was fast, the clerk was very pleasant and professional!

Days Inn Rochester

Pros: Proximity to Mayo Clinic.
Cons: Tear down the building and construct a new facility.
Location: Good location near the Mayo Clinic. I was only there for the clinic.
This is a very old building with some upgrades. Some staff were pretty negative; others very nice. They over-emphasize the $100 penalty for smoking in the room. I have never smoked, so was quite offended. There is no continental breakfast. The hotel has a restaurant that guests are expected to use for breakfast. There is a 14% discount for hotel guests. The restaurant was not what I consider a good value.

Quaint & Convenient

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: The Location is perfect for visiting the Mayo. The hotel is small, and quiet. Staff is excellent. Free parking.
Location: Located near the Mayo, shopping and restaurants. Very convenient.
This hotel is right where you want to be if you are visiting the Mayo Clinic--walking distance to most of the main buildings, as well as some shopping and restaurants. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is fairly small and quiet. Take note, however...this is a very OLD hotel (think..."register of historic buildings" old.) Furnishings don't fit in the older, tiny rooms, and carpets and furnishings are either worn or non-existent. If you want modern style and all the usual hotel amenities--this isn't the place to stay.
