Historic doesn't mean a motel type of amenities

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Cheap amenities. Old, very old fixtures, sticky closet sliding door. How much more cod it cost to have decent toiletries. They seem to have a monopoly in Rochester - so who cares about staying with times. Will never stay H here again

Nice place, quiet and comfortable

I had a pleasant stay , the staff was very helpful ; ideal for people who had business or activities related to mayo clinic . The area where hotel is at is very clean, there are plenty of shops and restaurants, the direct connection to other buildings and civic center is very helpful and practical

Old tired hotel

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The hotel is in a great location for a visit to the Mayo Clinic
Cons: NEVER book an economy room!!!
Location: Plenty of good restaurants but not much else in the area
This hotel is well suited if you are visiting the Mayo Clinic, and does have nice rooms but if you book thru Expedia, they give you the 'Economy' room. The economy room is only suited for one person, the shower is barely big enough to turn around in and the sink is not in the bathroom itself, is in the room as a separate fixture. This is VERY inconvenient if you are not feeling well. Also, the walls are very thin and you can easily hear the next suit talking!!!

Pros: Beautiful hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Excellent location. Clean. Good price through Expedia. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
Cons: Parking was full. Had to park at Graham parking garage and walk through the subway. Rooms were clean but tight quarters.
Location: Right in the heart of activity. Convenient to shopping and resaurants. Next door to Gonda and Mayo Clinic. EXCELLENT location for all.
Excellent experience. Visited Kahler during follow up at Mayo Clinic. Their restaurant was closed for work, but they recommended Pescara, just a few blocks away. It was excellent. Had after dinner drinks and breakfast at the other two Kahler hotel restaurants. Very good. Best thing about this place is the convenient location. It is right next to Gonda/Mayo Clinic/Mayo Hospital and right in the middle of excellent restaurants and shopping.

Old and Dirty

Sink was in bedroom. No blanket. View was wall of brick building. Key card lock worked half the time. Room was not cleaned and needed to ask multiple times to get done. Front desk failed to coordinate ground transportation.

expensive

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: the closeness to the clinic
Cons: when you are paying that much even a discount at a restaurant would be ok
Location: very close to clinic
I thought the motel was very dated and very few amenities. No breakfast, had to climb quite a few steps to get to pool area, no good lighting in bathrooms which were very small

Mayo Clinic Trip

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Right across the street from Mayo. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff were great and helpful. Nice little square adjacent with sidewalk cafe's and shops. Grocery store in walking distance. Only problem was shower which ran hot and cold. Overall, for an 80 year old hotel, excellent. If you're looking for luxury baths and large suite type room, stay elsewhere.

Way overpriced for the conditions.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Mayo Clinic where I was a patient.
Cons: Modernize the rooms, lower the prices on the "economy" rooms.
Location: I had multiple tests at Mayo Clinic and very little time to explore.
The room was barley large enough for a full size bed and the shower was too small for an adult. The room air conditioner blew directly on the side of the bed so at night you get chilled.
