So-so

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: quiet room, comfortable bed caribou coffee and jimmy johns immediately accessible from lobby
Cons: supply lotion, shower cap, and more than one each of regular and decaf coffee packets clean/replace carpeting or bedding that has "hospital" odor
Great location if you need to be close to Mayo. The parking ramp is stress-inducing as it's two-way traffic sharing a space that fits only one vehicle, and parking costs $12/day. Some of the hotel floors have a strong "hospital" smell. Bed and pillows were comfortable and room was quite quiet. Twice during our stay I called front dest with a question and both times got no answer. Had to get dressed and go down to lobby. Toiletries in room consist of two bars of soap and one tiny bottle of two-in-one shampoo/conditioner...that's it. Breakfast ends at 9:30.

Very disappointing due to hundreds of kids.

Posted May 6, 2015
There was a youth conference in Rochester the weekend we were staying at the hotel. There were hundreds of jr high - hs kids staying at the hotel. We were unable to use the elevator or continental breakfast due to incredibly long lines and crowds of kids. The facility was unable to comfortably host the number of guests attending the conference. The management should have realized this and limited the number of guest per room.

Our stay was for medical reasons so the hotel is a excellent choice for us. We normally stay here whenever we're in the city. Excellent staff and accommodations.

First Trip to Mayo

Posted Apr 21, 2015
We traveled up to Rochester to an appointment at Mayo Clinic. The Hotel was great for its location and convenience to everything downtown. We enjoyed the stay and feel when we come back we will use this Hotel again. The only comment I would have is the cleanliness of the bathroom. We would like to see it cleaner in the corners and the bathtub.

Room smelled like dead fish.

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Cons: Update the room photos on the website.
Our room was described as a suite on the website. However, the staff referred to it as a kitchenette. There was an air purifier right inside the door. It didn't take us long to figure out why. The room smelled like dead fish. It was already late in the evening, so we decided to stay put. I complained when we checked out the next morning and they reduced our rate. The staff said that we should have told them right away so that they could have found us another room. However, we picked that suite because it had queen size beds. If we are in Rochester again, we will stay somewhere else.

I would like to apologize for the unpleasant smell you experienced during your stay. This is not typical of the high standards that our guests have come to expect from us. If you are in Rochester again I hope you can give us another opportunity.

Pros: Convenience to the clinic.
Cons: Parking is fairly tight, but understandable...adjacent to Mayo's ivory towers.
Semi-annual check-up, including but not limited to, every available orifice and several that have yet to be discovered.

Pleasant.

Pros: Cheerful environment.
I spent the weekend looking for my cell phone, which I felt must be hiding somewhere in my belongings. So I was not worried. On the last day of out stay and I had signed out of our room, I went to search for the cell phone in the car. No cell phone. Becuase of the roaming charges which my phone is subject to, I had turned the phone off. Now I decided to try my luck with management and see if a cell phone had been handed in; no luck. He wanted to know when I last had seen it; where as, I knew that I had it in the restaurant the first day we arrived. Managemnt suggested I check out the restaurant. I could hardly believe it but there it was on his desk, waiting to be claimed. A big "Thank you" to you for hanging on to it for me.
