Hotel California!!!

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Nothing!!
Cons: Everything!!
I have stayed at other Microtel Inn's and they have been wonderful, however this particular location is horrible. It's very outdated, the rooms have NO amenities other than a hair dryer, no coffee pot, iron/ironing board, microwave, fridge, nothing. The rooms was incredibly small and cramped, the mattress was so over used it was hollow in the center, the room was dirty.....it was simply one of the all time worst hotels that I've ever stayed at. Had it not been graduation weekend for many of the area colleges and high schools, I would have changed hotels, but everything under $180+ a night was sold out. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone!!!

Accidentally got a smoking room, and they couldn't change it for us once we realized.

Great value hotel

Posted Jun 27, 2015
I liked my stay here overall, the location was great. Tim hortons right next door, 5 minutes to the mall and 10 minutes to downtown. Breakfast was what was to be expected. The only thing I can say bad was a small stain on the comforter, but I never use hotel blankets and have my own on hand. I told the lady at the front desk and she said if I would have wanted a different blanket she had some brand new ones in the back I could have used.

The room was disgusting! It was dirty and rundown.

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: Nothing. was only hotel available in the area of RIT because of graduation. Had to pick up kids from college. Will make reservations earlier next year
Cons: Everything! Rooms, service and hotel staff
The room was disgusting! It was dirty, rundown and not maintained. The bathtub/shower was cracked so when you stepped into it it separated and created a hole. The rooms were very small with barely enough room for the queen size bed. There was one night table on one side of the bed an on the other a mini fridge with microwave on top to act as the other night table. It was very dirty. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned since it was put in. Make sure you bring your slippers, you don't want your bare feet on this floor! There is so much wrong with this place I can't even list them all. We left feeling dirty. That should say it all.

Close to I-90 but very expensive for very simple

Posted May 18, 2015
Needed to break a long drive from Canada to New York. Wanted as close as possible to Thruway. This was clean and did the trick but holy moly $200!?!?#%! I had no choice. Given same lack of choice would stay here again

Old and tiny

Room needed renovated. The carpeting was folding and the bathroom wallpaper was coming off. The breakfast was limited with no orange juice.

not like other Microtel I've stayed in

Posted May 11, 2015
old Microtel ... rooms were very dated ...paint was chipping off the walls.....dirt in the corner in the bathroom and it looks like dirt or glue or something in the prefab shower stall crevices ...people were nice but I won't stay there again

Reasonable comfort for price

Posted May 11, 2015
Clean. Comfortable bed. Very pleasant staff. Non-smoking room, but entire second floor hall reeked of cigarette smoke. Tiny soap/shampoo. Minimal continental breakfast. Overall, reasonable for price.

You get what you pay for...

Smelled strongly of smoke everywhere, breakfast selection was quite minimal, but bed was clean and comfortable, staff was pleasant and rates were quite low.
