Stay at Radisson in Rocheste r on April 12th

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Easy to get to large rooms with queen size beds
Cons: Noise from neighbors; shouldn't charge a hotel guest for parking and there was a lot of garbage strewn about the garage.
Location: I didn't expect someone to come up to me as I was about to park my car and ask for money.
Beds were comfortable, towels excellent, WiFi access terrific, room service also very good.

I guess there was a party going on at the hotel and my car was parked inside the hotel ramp and someone backed into my car! How the car was hit should had made a loud noise. The hotel did not see anything nor the cameras was not facing where my car was parked at.

On behalf of the entire staff here at the Rochester Riverside Radisson Hotel I would like to personally thank you for your patronage on your recent stay with us. In addition, I very much appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I am sorry to hear about your incident in our garage. Unfortunately we are not always able to control what our guests do. I hope that we were able to assist you with attempts to resolve the situation. I hope that you will still visit us again soon. Pros: Convenience to where my work was downtown.
Cons: Just overall quality. Maybe needs an update.
Location: Can't get much closer to the convention center downtown.
If it had been any more expensive, I would have stayed elsewhere. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Would have had a nice view of the river if I could actually have seen out the window (it was covered in something I couldn't identify).

Thank you for your recent comments on Hotels.com. I am sorry that your view of the river was not pleasant. The weather can take a toll on our windows but we do have scheduled cleaning in the Springtime. We hope that you will visit us again and enjoy a better view of the river. Guest satisfaction is important to us so I will share your concerns with our team. We look forward to seeing you again and safe travels.

The worst hotel experience i have ever had.

Posted Mar 12, 2014
My daughter and I stayed at the Radisson during a regional USA diving meet, so it was important for my daughter to get some sleep. The hallway on our floor was packed with drunk people with costumes using foul language, ordering pizza, drinking, and laying in the hall. The hotel did nothing.

Pros: The location. Downtown Rochester.
Cons: Nothing. Just let guests know when you have lots of students attending conference especially high school students (teenagers)
Location: Restuartants and shopping areas
It was very nice, but just one little complaint. The hotel was hosting a group of several high schools at the same time of our stay and the students were very loud on our floor. When we woke up in the morning, the garbage all over the floor. We felt as quests, we should have been inform that students would be there and we apolized for any inconvenience. But over all rating, the hotel itself was great.

Pros: N/A
Cons: Hotel in poor repair loose floor tiles, lose towel hooks, lax room inspection, had to wait 20 minutes to exit parking garage due to broken gate.
Location: Hotel is in downtown Rochester close to city center.
I made reservations for a Club Level Rm for the dates Fri Feb/14/2014 - Mon Feb/17/2014. I was not given the room I paid for & had issues from the moment I checked in. On Arrival: Garbage can sitting in the bathtub full of plaster from a ceiling repair, plaster covering back of toilet, sides of bathtub and floor, dirty washcloth covered with strands of hair on the sink, large indentation in the sleep number bed that would not fill w/remote. I paid for a Club Level room, description included microwave & fridge, in room on Club Level with lounge & other amenities. I received a standard room without any amenities. Day 2 wife went into bathroom to shower; hung towel on hook on back of door, hook fell off. Got into bathtub to take shower & had to stand in a puddle of water. TV froze whenever hotel staff used walkie talkie. Housekeeping cleaned the room took all the washcloths & did not replace them, emptied two garbage cans but only replaced one garbage can liner leaving the second without. After complaints we were given the option to stay in a suite for 2 extra days in addition to three nights @ any raddison. We attempted to enjoy ourselves despite the issues. On day of departure I stopped at the desk to confirm late check-out. The rep checked the computer and confirmed we could have the room until 6pm. As I was walking away a manager stated that in fact we could not stay for a late check out the room was booked and we needed to be out in 2 hours.

Frustrating experience: staff unable to control...

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Location, convenience for purpose of my trip.
Cons: Cleanliness, odor (I was staying in a non-smoking room) and renovation to modern 3-star hotel standards.
My main issue was that the hotel's staff was unable to control an enormous group of visiting teenagers. It wasn't the staff's fault per se - the problem seemed beyond their ability to control. I was staying at the hotel for business. It was important to catch as much sleep as possible for what needed to be an extremely focused next morning. There was a group of at least 100 teenagers staying with the hotel. The level of noise was absurd. At 1:00am, after 5 calls to the staff downstairs, the group, was stomping, singing, chanting, screaming and partying in the halls. The group was spread out all over the hotel so the noise was coming from all angles. I was extremely disappointed with the way the Radisson staff handled the situation. I tried calling the corporate line and was unable to get anyone on the line. Very frustrating experience. Other (less noticeable) quams: my room had a noticeable odor despite being a non-smoking room. The styling, furnishing, heating, utilities are very dated. This hotel seems like it's last renovation took place in the 90's. It's absolutely due for an update to meet modern standards. If it weren't for my experience being subjected to raucous visitors I would say this hotel is a 2.5-star at best. Staying here I can assure you that you won't have that experience of a stay at a hotel when it's clean, comfortable and a pleasure. I'll say the staff was friendly and meant well. Overall experience was on the poor side.

Great downtown location

Great hotel, nice, clean room, very attentive (and accomodating) staff, nice bar with friendly bartenders on first floor (although there were some non-hotel staying rowdy patrons in the bar). I like the fact that unlike their nearby competitor, Radisson doesn't price gauge their tenents an exuberent $10.00/night for WiFi access. The parking here is steep though at $12/night for Rochester. Overall, would (and probably will) stay here again and highly recommend it to friends.
