“Not impressed”

Nice view of the river and university from our room but had a terrible night's sleep because of very thin walls. People across the hall coming and going all night. I wasn't told there was a dog park just outside my window. I was awoken yet again to barking at 6:30am. Parking lot in the middle of a road where college students race back and fourth all night. Our family was nearly hit twice while trying to get to our car,

“Disapointed”

I was in Rochester for business & was at this hotel for 6 nights. The bed was so uncomfortable & the rollaway was horrible. The couch had gross stains all over it. The shower curtain smelled Like urine. The potato soup they offered in the evening was served cold & gave me a awful stomach ache. The manager on several different occasions greeted only certain tables asking certain guest how everything was. The breakfast offered very little to choose from. This is suppose to be a smoke free hotel yet I could smell smoke in the halls & my room. The swimming pool was dirty. I would not stay here ever again or recommend this place.

“Very Fine Hotel”

Overall this is a very fine hotel very well equipped for longer term stays but quite fine for the short stay business or casual traveler as well. The hotel service is quite fine, the rooms are spacious and well appointed and include fine amenities particularly for those needing an extended stay. Beds are comfortable, and the rooms are clean.We did have a slight odor of mildew in the bathroom, but this was more than counter balanced by a great deal that was right. The location is very decent with many rooms (of which ours was one) with views overlooking the Genesee River and the (never stooping to be unpretentious) University of Rochester campus beyond.

Area recommendations

If you are visiting Rochester, you are not likely to be a casual tourist. You probably have a destination or purpose already firmly in mind which brings you here. You will not be much tempted by any other distractions. Rochester is a place that will let you get on with your business or whatever your purpose without distracting you with a great deal of local color. You will be able to accomplish what you came to do and return home without much of anything to regret you've left behind.

“UR Staybridge”

Nice, affordable hotel in walking distance to the University of Rochester. My room was clean and had updated amenities. However, my only complaint (and it's a big one) is that the walls are paper thin! You HEAR EVERYTHING your neighbor is doing or saying. I've stayed at this hotel twice and experienced this issue both times. I highly recommend using ear plugs if your hoping for a restful night!

“Repeat for a reason”

This was my 3rd stay at the Staybridge. They always fill my request for a quiet room on the riverside. The room has everything you could want in it. The breakfast is very nice and the dinners Tues - Thur are a very nice and convenient treat. On 2 different stays my room was not cleaned on various days. The light touch housekeeping service is something to get used to. If you stay on the weekends you have to request in advance to have your room serviced. The housekeeping service would be my only complaint for this hotel. I have stayed at equally as nice properties for less that offered full housekeeping. But this is a great hotel and I will stay again.

“Great Location”

If your child goes to UOR, you should stay here. It is a easy walk over to the university. Should have stayed here the last few years when I visited. The neighborhood is not the best, but I was never uncomfortable.
