“Good travel stopover”

Not a lot of dining options on a sunday morning, but otherwise very nice.

“Far better than I expected”

I read a lot of negative reviews but still chose to stay here, 1/2 mile from my daughter's apt and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly although the fellow at the front desk could have had more personality. Still, he handled our requests promptly. Yes, I will stay here again.

for the price ya cant beat it, liked the neighborhood, bed was comfy, what more can you ask for? not a high end hotel but clean and comfortable and i will defiantly stay again if I'm in the area and in need.

We chose the East Avenue Inn Downtown because it is convenient to the Eastman House and to the museums we wanted to visit - and because it is extremely reasonable. It was all of that, pretty much what we expected from the reviews and given the price. The carpet was bit worn, the blanket was a bit thin BUT we were happy to have found this place. And would definitely stay there again. As for the location, we were there on a wintry weekend so we ended up driving everywhere that we had expected to walk. But the museums all had ample parking. This part of Rochester's "downtown" is pretty spread out and residential, not terribly walkable or interesting anyway.

“Superb stay!”

The East Avenue Inn is a great, decently priced hotel. The lodgings are lovely. The only things lacking are hair dryers in the room! It's great for an overnight if you've lots of other things planned in the Rochester area.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, a nice size and comforable. The location is very accessible to downtown and attractions.

“Not as bad as some might say”

I chose the East Avenue Inn because it was close to downtown, on or near a few bus lines, a short trip from the bus and railway stations, and the lowest price I could get. I was going to see a show after it was cancelled in my area, and I needed a place to stay for the night because I don't drive or know anyone locally, and couldn't get a ride. Others have slated this place, but it's not like it's one of those motels you see on TV with what have you. I personally didn't have any real problems withe the facility. I just wish there was complimentary continental breakfast (there may have been in the past, as there was room for it), but I was able to take the bus to a great place, as I can manoeuvre my way around almost anywhere on the bus, foot, or an occasional cab. Also wish the bed was a bit more comfortable, even though it was an old bed from Marriott. The neighbourhood is safe. East Avenue Inn used to be a Days Inn and maybe a Marriott franchise, but it is now 100% inn-die, so I helped keep money local. Also, all the chains were out of my way in the suburbs. There is cable with HBO and all that bit. There's also wi-fi, but I won't bring my laptop when travelling all alone. I didn't think to look for laundry facilities, but I didn't need those however. This is close to area attractions like Eastman House, Sea Breeze, Strong Museum, Blue Cross Arena, and more. If you're looking to stay in Rochester on a budget and close to city stops, then East Avenue Inn may be the ticket.

“a nice hotel”

I'll have to say that the rooms were clean, and there was always hot water no matter what time of the day or night. the staff friendly and the hotel quite. i really could not ask for more. also easy walking to downtown rochester and shops.

“Location”

The East Ave Inn has the best location. All the sights are in a short distance. I stay here 2 times a year and Im always happy to be there.

“very basic”

We picked this hotel because of its proximity to downtown--a 5 minute walk to many areas of Rochester--and its low rate. The hotel itself has a pretty dingy feel to it, but everything in the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's located in a safe area (we felt at ease walking back there late at night) and the staff was courteous and accomodating--there was no iron in the room, but they brought one up to us when asked. Compared to other hotels, it's certainly not luxurious, but it served its purpose.
