Enjoyed our stay

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Convenient to activities, clean, a good rest..
Cons: It wasn't the hotel, we didn't plan on Sunday for a late night to eat, there is Cook out for shakes, but limited for late Sunday meals. Go to Publix.
Location: The location was near were we needed to be the White Water Center, Lake Wylie and not far from Lake Norman. You could do Carolwinds, it is close.
We had no problem with the staff, or the room. The room was clean, and the staff answered our questions and if not they told us to look up activities in the brochures. I do wish they might have gone to some to tell us a bit of what they knew about the area. But over all we had a good experience. A minor thing is the pool is small, but since we kayaked and did white water rafting, we had our water for the two days there. The breakfast had eggs, potatoes and sausage. Yogurt, apples and oranges. I didn't try the waffles, but the pasteries were good and the people staying at the time loved to connect with new people. We had clean towels and the beds were comfortable.

Hotel is old and beat up

Needs some tender loving rehab but it was clean and the bed was good. If your not after luxury experience it's a good place for the price.

OK Facilities

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Cons: See experience above.
Location: N/A
The drywall was exposed due to falling plaster. Window screens were either missing or torn. The carpets were worn and the lobby was in OK shape. There were empty beer bottles and cans near the bushes by the parking lot. Would have preferred to stay at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn or Courtyard.

Average facility with hollow walls.

Hotel needs some sprucing up in the interior room I occupied.Stained furniture, musty smell upon room entry and chipped ceiling stucco which is a huge issue if young children delight in small falling objects. Grout work makes bathooms look cleaner...the little things go a long way. While this is an older hotel, my stay in older hotels have not looked like this. Staff is friendly and helpful, but personality and customer service can't be the only selling points. Spruce up the rooms!

Noisy and disappointing

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Room was clean, with expection of spiders.
Cons: Customer service, breakfast quality and cleanliness of area. Also, something to make the rooms more sound proof.
We were on the first floor and every noise that was made in the room above us could be heard, including rolling over in the bed. It was the same with the adjoining rooms, which led to very little sleep. The breakfast led a lot to be desired. The eggs were watery, the tables and counters had syrup and food particles on them. We were going to tell the front desk clerk about this, however, there was a sign that she was helping in the breakfast area. Although we were told we could pay at the hotel when reserving this, we received a call at 3:30 PM that day saying they would not be able to hold our room without it being paid for on a credit/debit card, which we were required to do over the phone in order for the room to be hold. I explained to them we were in town, however, were at a sports event and they wanted to know what time we would be there. When I told them I did not know for sure, I was reqiured to go ahead and pay for the room, which was already charged to our card right after hanging up with her. I told her on Expedia it said we could pay when we got there and she again said they would not hold the room. This is definitely our last stay with Country Inn and Suites. We have canceled a reservation at one for the next weekend. There was also spiders in the bathroom.
