No log for you!

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Cons: I understand the they have owned this place for quite some time and was disappointed in the lack of professionalism and courtesy. It's a shame.
I stayed here last week after spending a pleasant night at "the Inn on the Prom" in Seaside Oregon ( a great place). We found out the my partners sister had passed away the night before and we headed South to Rockaway to manage arrangements. We needed to return a couple of days after and will need to return several times more to Rockaway from our home in West Linn. I asked for a complimentary 3 hour log for the fireplace (no real wood allowed) since I did not use one on the prior visit (I might be cautious with my money), and the Innkeeper seemed annoyed by my request. I felt uncomfortable and left him $5.00 the next morning for the 3 hour log with a vow never to return to his once comfortable, but not special, motel. We will be staying at a more welcoming motel from now on. Oh, and by the way, the office called the room early in the morning and woke my girlfriend, already distraught after learning her sister had just passed, asking if she had just called the office. What?! I had left already to start cleaning her sisters house with her family and learned this later that morning. Who does this?

Fireplace, Double-headed shower, right on beach

Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Right on the beach, cable tv with tons of channels, fireplace, double-headed shower, wonderful smelling detergent on the sheets and blankets,
Cons: Their website- the pictures are broken. Also photos misled us to believe this room had a kitchenette- only has a small fridge and microwave.
Location: Old Oregon Smokehouse- AMAZING smoked Salmon and oysters, and AMAZING crab melts. The people that work there are so friendly.
We originally booked this room for one night. We were so pleased with the location and Front Desk/Staff that we decided to book another night. Gentleman at Front desk offered us a deal for booking another night. He made sure that we had all we needed and if we needed room service after day 1 since we were going to be staying another night. There was a coffee machine but with no coffee filters or coffee? That is my only reason for rating Hotel facilities/condition with a 4. **They had a directory book they created that gives all information about room/hotel, tsunami evacuation, etc. BUT, they took the time to list all the attractions/things to do AND restaurants or places to eat nearby. I really appreciated this because as an out-of-towner, I don't know where to go or what to do but by word of mouth or things you just look up on the internet. This was very helpful and was so awesome to have a guide to refer to that was created by the STAFF themselves!

Older but Nice

Posted Feb 5, 2014
Location: this is an Oregon Beach play ground
Older but well maintained. Quiet and as close to the beach as you can get. Bit hard to find.

Just what we wanted

Very nice hotel, beach front at an affordable rate, well worth the expense. The fireplace is a very nice feature, one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

Hotel on the Beach

Posted Nov 20, 2013
We got in late the gentleman waited up to let us in. The room was ok but there were hardly anyone there and we didn't get a room with an ocean view. It would have been nice if they had let us have a room with view as is was a Wednesday.

Friendly staff, allowed us to change rooms

Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Staff
Cons: upkeep on lawn and decks.
Location: Everything. We had the beach and minutes to other towns for fun
Friendly staff, clean room, back yard had trash by deck. Wooden slates need repair. Older hotel needs some upkeep, but room was clean and staff friendly. A little overpriced for the amenities.

Wanted to spend a quiet night away at beach with spouse - hoping for a little romance and walk on the beach. Room suggested anything but.

It's on the beach!

Posted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: The room was clean and had a kitchen setup (stove/sink/microwave, dishes). Room had a fire place-with presto log provided
Cons: I had no major issues that concerned me
Location: Not much going on in Rockaway that's for sure. Upscale restaurant?-it's not going to happen . But it's not a major reason people head to the OR coast
Nothing fancy here. A decent room located on the beach. I mean on the beach -not a block away. Not a place to stay if your looking to impress someone with a fancy room but the location can't be beat if you're looking to enjoy the Oregon coast. If you book a coast view room you can sit on the porch looking over the ocean-nice stuff!!!
