“Nice Moderate Hotel”

Nice, clean, moderate hotel. Good service. Excellent location. Afternoon chocolate chip cookies! The rooms are older and could be better insulated against sound but amenities are surprisingly accommodating for personal or business travel.

Area recommendations

Recommend State St area as hotels and restaurants are plentiful and within walking distance.

“PASS on this place”

Pool was dirty, no towels, A/C in room barely worked, TV showed commericals to rent movies but when asked How? Was told that service has been removed but will take a year to take it off the TV... can find better place for the $$$

“3-star prices with 2-star quality”

First-impression was that it should cost 40% less than what it was. The carpet in the hallways was dirty. The ceiling above the shower in our bathroom had mold on it. We recently stayed at a hotel in Door County, WI that was less per night and 10X better in quality, cleanliness & comfort (Door County is NOT known for bargain hotels either). The beds were uncomfortable and the lighting outside the hotel was so bright that the "room darkening" curtains did nothing. They were too short for the windows also. The breakfast area was not well-kept. Chairs looked like they came from Salvation Army -- dirty and uncomfortable. Quality of food/drink was terrible. No fruit or any offerings for those with dietary concerns. (ie. No oatmeal, no sugar-free jelly or syrup for diabetics). Orange juice possibly the WORST I've ever had. It surprises me that this hotel is in the Wyndham chain --- we have stayed at a Wingate that was completely opposite of this!

“Hiding out @ Rockford - good service, clean & reasonable...”

For the frequent traveler that finds it tough to differentiate room to room anymore this property is a value. A bit tricky to find (but GPS will get you there) and then you can relax. The staff is accommodating but not overbearing and the property is well kept.
