“torn mattress!”

This hotel need some work on bed covers and mattress. The front-desk is so helpful.

“fair price--basic hotel”

The hotel was fairly priced for its level of service. Not bad for a one night stay when trying to get back on the road quickly in the morning. Breakfast was okay. Rooms small but clean.

Area recommendations

Decent food options but we were on a trip for a sports team so we got in late and just grabbed the free breakfast. Gas is near by and is some what easy on/off from the highway.

“OK Familly hotel”

We stayed for a family event, everything was OK for our needs. All was clean and the personnel was very courteous and always willing to attend.

“It's a Bed”

It's a Day's Inn...you get what you pay for. Internet was slow...but if you "upgrade" with Boingo supposedly it is faster. Some previous guest had smoked in the room and as soon as I walked in I could smell it, but it was not excessive and since there were no other King "Non" Smoking available I stayed in it for the three nights I was in town. No complaints for the class of hotel that it is...but it is what it is.

“Big things do come in small packages”

If you are wanting a spacious, luxorious place to hang your hat well, this room definately wasn't it. The bathroom has the sink in the main room not the bathroom.And the bathroom.......tiny, barely enough floor space to lay down the towel from showering. So that's the "bad" part of staying at this hotel room. Now, if you want a clean room, comfortable bed with soft pillows then this is for you. Our non smoking room smelled nice when we walked in. It had the usual coffee maker but we were surprised to see a small refrigerator as well as a full sized ironing board. Since y husband checked us in as well as out I didn't get the chance to interact with the staff but he had no complaints and trust me, he would have said something to me. They do offer a continental breakfast but we decided to eat out that morning so I won't give a false comment about that. Next time we are staying over night in Rockford we will definately stay at this hotel.

“NICE VACATION”

THIS IS A VERY NICE MOTEL, & IS ON THE MAIN STREET .. PLUS IT IS RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY TOO..THERE IS A LOT OF DINING, & SHOPPING ON THE MAIN STREET!!~~VERY CLEAN, LOTS OF FOOD FOR BREAKFAST!!~~

“A pleasant surprise”

The front desk staff was accommodating, the room was clean, the continental breakfast was dandy, and the convenience—the hotel is a two-minute walk from the site of the table tennis tournament I was attending—was outstanding. There was a water mark on the ceiling, the only sign the room needs a little care. Otherwise, the hotel exceeded expectations. It will be where I'll stay if I attend next year's Rockford table tennis tournament.

Area recommendations

The area where we stayed abounded with restaurants and commercial enterprise. We had two dinners at Giovanni's, an excellent Italian (and then some) restaurant a five-minute ride from the hotel. Rockford seems like a thriving, well-kept community. Overall, the trip was a pleasure.

Dining

Giovanni's, including Big Al's Bar, is an excellent restaurant. The woman at the front desk of the hotel recommended it, for which I thank her. The service at Giovanni's was exceptional, the ambience was relaxing, and the modern Italian food was creative and perfectly cooked. If you're in the Rockford area, Giovanni's is better than a sure bet. It's very fine dining at moderate prices.
