nothing fancy, small room, older TV, no shampoo, lotions or blow dryers etc.. but clean and good location after a football game at NIU

The room smelt of smoke! was not very clean.

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: Just the location to where we needed to be.
Cons: Better cleaning staff, Clean the rooms better and care about the people that stay there!
Upon checking out, there was NO ONE at the desk to check me out. I had to slide the room keys in a spot for no one else to get them!

The staff was very casual; the elevator smelled funny; the bed squeaked; and the mirror covering the wall over the head of the bed was unnerving.

80's-90's revisited

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: It was clean....and the price was right.
Cons: new matresses
Hotel was nice and clean, but very dated. Beds were so soft that you sunk in...just about killed my back. Afternoon desk clerk was fine....morning one awful. I think I must have woke her to check out...at 7am.

Ok if you really need to save money.

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: It is located on a main street that has access to shopping and restaurants.
Cons: Needs a remodeling update and a good cleaning. Elevator is a little scary.
The motel is a good place if you don't want to pay too much and you just need a place to spend the night. The motel seem to be old and it appears as such. The room is a little shabby and could use a new coat of paint and minor misc. repairs that are obvious. The outside of the building looked very nice, which is why we were very disappointed with the inside. The staff was not rude, but they did not make us feel welcomed. We feel that we should have spend the extra money to go somewhere a little nicer.

We were very impressed with this Motel 6. It had everything we needed for our 2 day stay for Family Weekend at NIU. There was even a microwave and a refrigerator. We would stay there again.

Good stay and close to restaurants

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Location and near to restaurants
Cons: Softer pillows....we brought our own so it was ok but the pillows were very hard.
We had wi-fi which was important...the stay was pleasant...

The room was small but clean and comfortable.

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: The price was reasonable and the room was clean.
Cons: Higher wattage lighting is needed.
Location: The hotel was convenient for our purposes. This is not a typical tourist area but there are wineries and antiques stores in the area.
The lighting was dim and TV viewing was awkward, but we weren't there to read or watch TV. We were visiting family in the area so we only needed to shower and sleep in the room.

A good return on your investment

Small room, outdated carpet and elevator. But if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night, a very good choice. There's also coffee and pizza in the same plaza.
