“Just what I needed”

This is a very old hotel. So I was not surprised at some of the issues. But the staff and maintence crew made up for what the hotel lacked.

“Good Stay”

The hotel grounds were a bit messy, like weedy and over grown, but the inside was pretty clean. Very nice lobby area, friendly staff, nice pool, etc. Our room was very clean and the King bed was comfortable. We were able to get a roll away for $10 that was clean and comfortable. The stair way was smelly and dirty, and we were on the 2nd floor, so that was kind of unpleasant each time we went up or down, and we didn't see any elevators so it was our only option. Also, the hall way carpet was stained, so that could be replaced no doubt. I think it was recently taken over by Ramada, so I think the hotel is on its way to being very nice but has a little way to go.

Beloit was pretty but not a lot to do. We were there for a wedding at the park by the river.

“Pleasantly Suprised”

This was not our first choice of hotels in this area but was really satisfied with the hotel service and comfort of this hotel. The staff was wonderful and the location was great. The pool area was spotless and the room was very comfortable. WE would stay here again.

“Will NOT GO BACK”

When we checked in they said our room was ready but we we got in the room it was trashed, dirty linens everywhere, smelled nasty. They gave us another room that was fine but we could not turn the air conditioner up at all, called front desk they said it was tempature controled and could not be turned up. it was 93 degrees that day with high humidity. Was not happy at all.

“Very disappointed”

The pool was the only plus to our stay, and even that needed cleaning. Customer service by the staff was horrible, outside grounds had been let go, security door was propped open with a rock, hotel room was tiny and in poor repair, and bathroom was dirty. Never again.

“New owners have the right attitude.”

The first room they had me in was flooded. The pool was closed for chemical cleaning. I heard from other guests that the new owners have not gotten the kinks out yet. Now the plus...They upgraded my room for my trouble. The pool was opened after two days. The hotel staff even allowed me to leave my Harley under an overhang on a stormy night. The beds and pillows were super comfortable!! All the staff was friendly and helpful. My only advice is to get to breakfast early for best selection (Waffle iron). Not five star, but very worth the money (I have to give the staff five-stars though!)

Area recommendations
Rockton, IL for Sam's Pizza. Pearl Lake Supper Club and Beach South Beloit, IL. Many Forest Preserves in the area. Milwaukee is only 86 miles from the hotel. Great mid point to see Points of interest in Madison, WI as well as Rockford, IL. Did I mention Sam's Pizza in Rockton, IL (short drive from the hotel, but I would eat there)
When to go
Summer!!! Lots to do in the good weather. Just drinking and dining in the winter. That is why Mid-western people are so nice. They are stuck inside with each other for the bad weather and work on their people skills (nyuk, nyuk)

“Not impressed”

I think this hotel is really 1 start hotel. Maybe 1.5 at max. Hallways stinks really bad. Rooms are really old. Towels were really old as well and smelled weird. Breakfast is alright, but no one ever refilled anything unless customer told them to refill it.

“I will never stay anywhere else again!”

Overall great stay! Great room. I loved how it was divided so I could put my 2yr old down at end of the night with my older daughter in the other room watching tv. Plus she sleeps better in a sep. area. so it was perfect. Usually a hotel stay means I will not get any sleep because she sees everyone in 1 room and will not lay down. This was great. One thing I would say though is it advertised a breakfast buffet but really was just a continental breakfast. All the reg. stuff plus yogurt, waffles and biscuits and gravy but tasted good so we were satisfied, just expected more like a buffet.

Area recommendations
The area right around the hotel is great. There is EVERYTHING you can think of right there or a block or 2 away. Prime location

“Not what I expected”

I will start by saying that the Staff was very helpful and polite. But as I checked in the smell of cigarettes was strong. I'm sure it was from a neighboring room. I was able to move to another room which was adequate for my one night stay but I would not have stayed two nights. The door strike was missing and the carpets need replacing. The Shower head was very low and was difficult to take a shower. There were not enough electrical outlets I had to unplug the microwave to plug in my PC.
