Beds and Non Smoking roomPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: It was convienient
Location: Rockford Motor speedway
We reserved two queen beds, and were in a room full sized beds. We made the reservation for our brother too NON-SMOKING and he was given a very smoky smoking room. They did change his room.

Good for the pricePosted Sep 28, 2013
Pros: Close to me event and very reasonable pricing.
Cons: Extra stupid charges on arrival!
The only thing I had a problem with was that after paying for the room, hotel extras and taxes on Expedia, when I checked in, they charged me an extra $6.25 for use of the fridge and microwave in the room!. I thought that was ridiculous and said so to the clerk. He said that it was the Motels rules. I said, what if I do not use them, he said, pay or don't stay.

You get what you pay for. The hotel is old and the hallways inside the hotel absolutely reeked of tobacco smoke. The lobby, which was very small, didn't smell that way, and our room wasn't really too bad either, considering the way the hallway right outside the door smelled. We were charged an additional S3.12 for use of the room safe and I didn't hear what else b/c I was in shock. Stayed at another Super 8 at our ultimate destination the following night and was charged the same thing but was told I'd get the $$ back in the morning if I didn't use the safe, so this might be a Super 8 hotel chain policy.

Dirty and outdatedPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: The location was reasonable though it was overshadowed by nicer places.
Cons: Hire housekeepers and someone who knows how to make coffee
Location: Location is great everything else is awful.
Toothpaste splashes on the mirror, grubby sink, smelly, hallway carpet had holes cut out, I mean, how much does it cost to keep clean? I'm fine with older hotels but this one was not even cleaned properly. I'm pretty easy to please with food - I never complain, but the morning coffee really was just dirty water. Yuck. Undrinkable. Avoid this place and do yourself a favor by spending just a few pennies more for somewhere nicer. I wouldn't even keep pets there!

The stay was everything I wanted it to be: inexpensive and in a convenient location. I had to wait 15 minutes at the front desk before being helped. The hallway carpets were torn up and the hallways smelled of smoke. The boxspring had a coffee stain on it. Despite this, it was a decent stay and served its purpose - a place to crash after a wedding. The front desk attendants, although slow to come to the desk, were very nice and lent me a phone charger once I realized I forgot mine. Was it good for a college student trying to save a few bucks? Yes. Would I recommend my parents staying there? No.

Had a problem at check-in but I don't know if that was the hotel's fault or the fault of Hotels.com. Since I don't know, I won't consider that in the evaluation of the hotel. This is the 2nd time I've stayed here and after seeing it again, I don't know if it's worth the low price. It's old--based on the colors the walls are painted it doesn't look like it's been renovated in over 25 years. Everything was clean, everything worked, and the mattress was surprisingly firm (which I prefer); but, I have a tough time paying that much for a room that looks that old. Also, there is an extra charge at check-in of a couple of bucks. I had forgotten about that, but people should be aware of that when they are comparing prices.

Clean old hotelPosted Jul 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Old hotel that you could tell they did there best to keep clean. Great price and location. Staff was nice especially the lady in the morning. It was great for a over night stay.
