I would never stay in this hotel again. It was absolutely nasty. Thank You Expedia for making it right! I will recommend Expedia to everyone. There was hair everywhere, used soap and shampoo in the shower with hair. The room itself smelled. And I was scared to park my car in their lot, because of the warning signs, about not being responsible for things stolen out of your car. My daughter was let down by the pool being out of service and the only ice machine in the place didn't work. I couldn't imagine eating the free breakfast because the lobby (if thats what you would call it) smelled like bug spray so bad I could hardly breathe! Stay somewhere else! This place was at the top of disgusting for us!

“A place to sleep”

If you are just looking for a night sleep, it's ok. The mattresses were in need of changing.

“Scary Area...”

The hotel was very rundown and in a rough area of DeKalb. We had 3 rooms there because we were visiting NIU and wanted to stay somwhere cheap. DON"T STAY HERE. We honestly felt unsafe at the hotel, not to mention it was in terrible shape.

“Should have Checked”

Because we were tight on money, we chose this hotel without really looking at comments of others. While it suited our needs at the time, it took me a good 1-1.5 hrs to finally feel comfortable enough to take a shower let alone go to sleep. If I had it to do over again, I would have tried to get a higher ranked hotel. The hotel wasn't bad if your standards are low.

“Cold... Uncomfortable... Loud”

My stay here was trying to say the least. I arrived at the hotel late in the evening and had to wait for the night attendant to figure how to work the computer system so that I could check in. 20 minutes later I was in my room, which did not have an iron or ironing board, two things I really need and was freezing cold. I crank the heat up, but the room did not warm. Rather, the heating unit spewed cold air from outside into the room. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much that night. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone who has to rest. It's proximity to the high way and car wash next door (with a giant air dryer that sounds like a jet taking off...) contributes to the experience by giving you a road side seat to the morning commute.
