Not worth itPosted May 25, 2015
I thought we got lucky finding an inexpensive place to stay at in Estes. No. Check in was awkward because the two employees were being passive aggressive toward one another regarding my check in. They said they didn't know if the room I reserved would be available because someone had just checked out several rooms there. The room was small, which is okay. It wasn't nice, which was also okay. But it legitimately gave me the creeps and I couldn't wait to check out. Free wifi doesn't work. HBO is NOT a channel that they have. The remote didn't work. There was very little water pressure from the shower. The body towels provided were the size to dry off a toddler. There was a gross brown substance on a wall, which really grossed me out. There were black skid marks in the shower that came off when i rubbed it, so they were not properly cleaned. There was hair in the shower. A/C was a very shoddy window unit. Even the big mirror they provide was completely dirty. The one outlet close to the bed didn't work. The set of double lamps on the wall - well, one didn't have a lightbulb, and the switch to turn the other one on didn't work. I will not stay here again.

Scratchy hotelPosted May 17, 2015
The motel is way worse than the pictures. The bathtub floor was brown and the room smelled like something had died in there. The couple at the front desk were super sketchy too. This was the worst motel I've ever stayed at and would not recommend it to anyone.

Pros: It was a place to stay and the price was right.
Cons: The hotel is old and has never been updated. The sheets and towels had dark stains on them. They were clean but stained.
This is not a place i will stay again. Everyone else was given a room at the front of the motel. We don't know why. The rooms in front looked better from the outside and they were not full. There were only a few people staying there.

Incredible mountain ViewPosted Oct 7, 2014
Only short walk behind hotel to Lake Estes trail. Brisk walk around lake about 4 miles. Or short walk from 1-2 miles. Incredible mountain view from room 70. Short 1 mile walk to downtown. Safeway, Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, and several nice sit down restaurants within walking distance. Room outdated but clean. Lots of potential for upgrade.

Thank goodness places like this exist!Posted Oct 3, 2014
Estes park is filled with expensive, beautiful hotels which we would no doubt enjoy-but at $80 a night- this hotel this was an incredible value. The price and location of this hotel encouraged us to drive up from Denver to see the fall foliage in Rocky Mountain National Park, (only 15 minutes away from the property). and enjoy a stay in this exclusive area affordably on an impromptu visit. If you have ever stayed in a travel lodge with the bear in a night cap, this is like those: a clean room, reliable amenities like mini-fridge and tv, heater, air conditioner, comfy bed. When we arrived our room was just finishing being cleaned and was fresh. The staff was friendly at check in and their adorable little boy was running around and playing, giving me the impression that this was a family place, which it is. It was safe, clean, well-located, well-staffed and just like road trips my folks treated me to. Thank goodness places like this exist because if I had to pay 200+ for a boutique hotel we might have not seen the trees this year! We will be back!

Last resort, literally.Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Quiet. Soft bed. Served it's primary purpose of resting a weary traveller.
Cons: Toilet seat is kinda important to be functional. Privacy shades. Better coffee. Cold fridge. WiFi password accessability.
Location: Walking path to downtown Estes Park, grocery shopping and a serious coffee upgrade.
No pillowcases or towels on arrival. Toilet seat broken. No privacy shades; all or nothing. Heater would not turn off. A/C unit on full blast all night to counter the heater, in mid-September? Mini fridge was unplugged upon arrival and the coffee was a nice thought, but bitter and stale. Overall, not great.

If you must..Posted Sep 29, 2014
Very outdated, but it's a room. The price is less than half of others. The rooms have potential. The owners could get great deals from other hotels that have upgraded. But it's not my business..
