Our stay at the Stanley Hotel not only exceeded our expectations but exceeded our fondest dreams as well. Nineteenth century hospitality, service and comfort still live!!!

“Nice getaway”

Very accommodating and dedicated staff. Each staff member greeted us during our stay and appeared to be genuinely happy about working in the hotel. The room was very nice and the upkeep was excellent for an older property, though the walls are thin and it's fairly easy to hear conversations in the hall.

“60th Birthday treat!”

Beautiful town, scenery, hotel, and weather. When in January with light snow falling, so ambience was picture perfect! Very interested in the history of the hotel. Would love to visit again in the summer. Would recommend for a great getaway for anyone.

“Good experience at controversial hotel”

I was a little concerned prior to booking because this hotel had received extremely mixed reviews, but we had a very good experience there. Beautiful setting, charming historical hotel, reasonable price (via Expedia). I'd definitely recommend it and would be happy to return.

“Stanley's front yard Rocky Mountain High!”

Beautiful hotel overshadowed by its amazing location on the edge of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Colorado is a great destination with majestic views and features everywhere. The hotel is well appointed and though older it continues to show the love and charm of its friendly employees. Highly recommend.

“Fun Experience”

The Stanley was a fun step back in time. I was pleasantly surprised how well the condition of the hotel was, the food was good and we had an overall pleasant time.

“Excellent Hotel With Interesting History”

The Stanley Hotel is Estes Park, Colorado is a wonderfully restored historic hotel. The staff and service is excellent, as is the food in the main restaurant. The hotel does a good job of playing up the hotel's history, even tastefully including the hotel's part in the film, "The Shining." Highly recommended.

“A Jewel Overlook-ing Estes Park”

We went to Estes Park for a four-day stay & this hotel was the best part of the vacation (which is saying a lot in view of the gorgeous scenery in & around Estes). The hotel is charming; the staff is quite courteous and helpful. The 24/7 showings of "The Shining" (both versions) on one of the hotel TV channels was a little cheesy; though it was interesting to see the parts of the tv-movie version that were actually filmed there. By all means, if you ever have an opportunity, visit this hotel!

“Loved it!”

I was a bit concerned about staying at the Stanley after reading some negative reviews, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. It is magnificent. Our room, a "classic" was small, but the furnishings were lovely. The four-poster bed was very comfortable, nice linens. Everything very clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the Ghost Tour. A great historical and cultural perspective. I wish I lived closer to the Stanley so I could make it an annual destination.

“Awesome trip to Estes Park”

Trip up to Estes Park was awesome and the Stanley hotel was an added benefit. Great place to stay. Hotel was cool for the connection to "The Shining", but never knew about the history of the town and the original owners of the hotel. Well worth the stay for a spooky night or if your in to the history of the area. Would stay again if we make it back up to the area.
