NICE SURPRISE

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Front desk person (Mette?) was excellent, accommodating and pleasant. This is the "face" of the hotel to guests and she is outstanding.
The hotel was charming in a classic European way. Beautiful entrance and very nice breakfast room and evening dining room including an outdoor deck. Only bad experience was the hotel sponsored bus we hired to take us to our hotel in Rome. The train is near the hotel but has limited space for luggage (we were a party of 9) and is awkward with lots of up and down steps from station to track. Driver was late and obviously intimidated by driving in Rome and spoke zero English. We ended up walking to our hotel for several blocks because the driver was "afraid" of the narrow streets?! We hired the bus (280 Euros) specifically to avoid hauling luggage.

No room available for us and they screwed up our friends room. Moved us to a hotel that was 15 minutes out of town?? Said it was 2 kms ? Never book them again

Pleasant stay

Pros: On expedia website
Cons: Bathtub reno literally pulling away from the wall
Location: Swimming great restaurants shopping quite a few upper end stores
Great staff comfortable rooms with lovely views but really bad impression left due to terrible workmanship on bathroom tub reno plus a really poor breakfast buffet. Would still recommend this hotel. The lady in charge of the restaurant was extremely welcoming and made our first meal extra special.

Decent, not great.

Location: Good location on the waterfront in town.
Small suite disappointing due to steep staircase to loft and cramped main room. Hotel restaurant was close to horrible. Sea bass was tiny, overcooked, and tasted like it came from the freezer. Would never consider returning.

Nice Hotela and Convenient Location

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Proximity to port, restaurants, train station. Provided shuttle service to port (and airport if desired).
Great hotel for a night or two before/after cruise. Very good location - close to train station and faces the sea.

Great Location & View of the Sea

We were very pleased with the San Giorgio. We used their shuttle service to pick us up at the airport in Rome. The driver was right on time at the meeting point, and she quickly got us out of the airport and on our way. The hotel is very pretty, right across the street from the sea, and the breakfast was great. If we ever cruise out of Civitavecchia again, we will book this hotel again!

Good Location for Port of Civitavechia

Posted Apr 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent location, friendly staff. Ideal stopover on way to cruise port. Hotel arranged transfer from airport and to port terminal for ship departure in its own shttle bus which was very smooth and reasonable cost. Breakfast included is basic. Dinner in hotel restaurant was pricey and food mediocre. Would stay here again.
