“Nice hotel - Good Location”

Had a very nice stay at the Hotel De La Ville before our cruise. Well located to restaurants, shops, a museum and street vendors. The train station is 1/2 block away. There's a little train that drives a route of the highlights of Civitavecchia that I didn't know existed. Would have taken it if I'd known about it earlier. Short taxi ride to the Celebrity dock or a two block walk with suitcases to the complimentary shuttle stop that takes people to the ships within the port. Reasonable Internet rate for the computer in the lobby which was convenient. Morning continental breakfast was good.

easy walk from train station and to port entrance where you can meet the port shuttle bus. plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from.our room had excellent water views. Staff very friendly

“Average & in need of maintenance”

This is a well located hotel - right next to Hertz, just a long from the railway station and a short stroll to the port entrance - but a considerable distance from Terminal 25 the departure point for the very large cruise ships (you really need a taxi to get to the terminal). If you are on a budget and don't have high expectations it is adequate for 1 night - I wouldn't want to stay a week but I could stay there again if this was the starting point for another cruise. We had several issues will poor maintenance; torn shower curtain that allowed water to cascade on to the floor, the low shower water pressure and a broken shower fitting that made it difficult to use. The room was large but the decor old & tired. The bed was comfortable. The room had a view along the esplanade and across to the sea and the pool. The breakfast was one of the better ones we had at the hotels we stayed at in Italy. There is a good seating area in the foyer to sit while waiting for a taxi or filling in time. The hotel has a certain olde worlde charm which with a little attention to detail could make it much more appealing. The town itself is not exciting or glamorous so the hotel is in keeping wth the town's characteristics. The price was very reasonable for what the hotel offered.

“4 star? maybe 1”

I stayed here for 1 night with my wife before going on a cruise. The overall look of the hotel is that it is really old, or without the appropriate maintenance. Carpets have stains, the elevator felt like it was going to fall and the bathroom sink was falling apart. I felt like a rat was going to come out from anywhere. Besides its horrible looks, the people working here are not very nice. Whenever I asked for any information they would give me attitude as if I should already know what I was asking. The only good thing is the location. It is about 2 minutes walking distance from the train station and about 5 minutes from the port entrance. I will not stay here again.
