Pros: Friendly staff Clean Rooms US Channels on TV AC works great
Cons: Wi-Fi
Location: Near the beach Most everything within walking distance
I have been staying at the Emperador for the past three years(twice a year) and have nothing but good things to state about my visits. The staff is so very friendly the rooms are always clean and plenty of towels. The TV has many US channels and AC works great !. Overall I am very pleased...once again with the Emperador Hotel Vallarta.

Friendly staff, quaint and perfect for our family.

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff, cost effective.
Cons: If the hotel had its own beach section with umbrellas and loungers for the guests. We ended up buying an umbrella from a local and leaving it there.
Location: Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and all around downtown area. We loved grabbing tacos and fresh ceviche from the locals at nearby stands.
We stayed in the Oceanview Suite that had an outdoor kitchen on the balcony and it was great. The view was gorgeous and we were steps away from the beach. The hotel staff was extremely friendly (especially Ian) and our room was cleaned daily. For our family vacation we wanted to stay in the heart of Puerto Vallarta and experience the culture and this was a perfect selection for this type of getaway. We walked all over downtown, to the super market, and shopping. The location was safe and there was plenty to walk around and see. We would certainly return again.

Great Location & Excellant Staff

Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: 1. Location 2. Great Staff, everyone is very friendly and helpful. 3. Price
Cons: 1. Wifi, is only available in the hotel lobby, they should upgrade so that it is available in the guest room.
Location: 1. Right on the beach 2. Close to downtown 3. Great restaurants nearby 4. Clubs within walking distance 5. Massage location all around
Whenever we go to Puerto Vallarta we stay at the Emperador Vallarta Beachfront Hotel and Suites. It is not a big fancy hotel, but the location, staff, and price you couldn't find anything better. The room we get is large with a great balcony overlooking the ocean and pier with a full kitchen.

great location, wonderful view of los muertos beach

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: We enjoyed the location of this hotel in the romantic zone with all the cafes and bars & close proximity to the Los Muertos pier
Cons: The hotel has a lovely restaurant attached to the hotel on the beach called "Si Senor" with some loungers to use but must order from the restaurant.
Location: Spend the day on the beach,a 2 min walk to the pier for water taxis, walk around the romantic zone with all it's cafes & bars, stroll along the malecon
We were very lucky to get a standard room with a balcony that overlooked the beach, pier as well as the town & the mountains. Our room was kept spotless by our maid Isabella who had a big smile for us everyday, the front desk staff,Ian & Daniel were also very helpful & accommodating. We enjoyed our 16 night stay there very much.

Perfect combination for comprehensive PV value.

Posted Mar 14, 2015
Pros: Excellent value for clean and comfortable accommodations with kitchenette with good size fridge and very personable management.
Cons: Wi-fi accessibility in all rooms. Repair the jacuzzi on the terrace roof to working order. Access to a microwave oven.
Location: Excellent location directly on a desirable part of the main beach at beautiful Los Muertos Pier in the heart of the bustling Romantic Zone.
We 3 adult friends had a particularly enjoyable 1 week experience thanks to the very professional and honorable management and staff.

Great location, very basic, flakey wifi (as usual)

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, especially Ian.
Cons: Add comfortable lounge chairs to the balconies, install wifi repeaters on each floor, add some color and decoration to the hospital like rooms.
Location: Right on the beach in the old part of town (Zona Romantica). Many restaurants nearby. Near the gay beach, if that's your thing. Near the pier.
The staff here is very pleasant and helpful. This is a BASIC hotel that just happens to have some rooms with ocean views. Furniture is minimal and basic. No room decorations whatsoever. No in-room safe. Had to ask for comfortable sitting chairs for the ocean view balcony. Shower and bath was remodeled and very decent. I've come here for 3 years in a row now. The management seems intent and making absolutely no improvements - to wifi, to room comfort, etc. Warning: Nearly all rooms face the beach which means they also face incessant noise from beach goers, mariachi bands, "tribal/annoying" drummers, and restaurant sound systems. After 10:30 PM, however, all this settles down nicely. Yet...I would stay again because of the location, the friendly staff, especially Ian, and all the restaurants close by. If you are a no-frills traveler that can rough it just a wee bit...this might be the place for you.

Right on the beach!

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: There is a nice restaurant in the very bottom floor right on the beach. They have pretty good food.
Cons: Way too much to list. Wifi booster would be nice so wifi in rooms.
Location: Right on the beach so you can go get a chair and umbrella or walk next door to other beach areas. Best part of the beach to get in to swim.
The hotel is right on the beach. Our friends stayed next door and they had a way nicer room but their beds were terrible. Our beds were a mattress on top of concert. Our beds were not bad. We did not get the ocean view. The hotel only shows photos of ocean view rooms. The rooms are like night and day. We had a really really tiny room and outdated bathroom. The sink was just attached to the wall and leaked water all over the floor. There is NO hot water in the sink facets. All of the non ocean view rooms only window has the walk way for everyone outside of it so forget about ever opening your window or pulling back the drapes. Single pane sliders that are about 30 years old and feels like anyone can break into your room and really loud all night. There are NO blankets just sheets on the bed. The locks are like a 1980s locking door knob with a key. This place is NOT a resort. Just a very very old hotel. NO closet in the room just a few shelves and a rod about a foot long. NO wifi except downstairs in the lobby. Its cheap and you get what you pay for. We went out every day and just used the room to sleep and shower in so it worked for us. Wish they would show a more realistic picture of what this place actually looks like.
