"Super clean, super comfy and super friendly"
We stayed at the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese for four nights in June 2014. Upon arrival, we were quickly and very politely greeted by hotel staff. The doorman took our bags for us immediately, and the overall check-in process was fast and smooth. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the housekeeping staff checked on us daily to ask if everything was up to par. Our room overlooked Via Lombardia but it is a very quiet street so there was no noise to complain of. The hotel itself was also very quiet so no trouble sleeping at night. Breakfast was not included in our package but much to our pleasant surprise, there was a table set up outside the breakfast dining room with a complimentary "breakfast on the go" -- fresh croissants and fruit, along with little to-go bags -- which we took advantage of each day. The location of the hotel is in a very nice area of Rome. It is just a short block or two off of Via Veneto and only about a 5 or 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps. It is also about a 5-minute walk from Villa Borghese.

"A superb hotel in the centre of Rome!"
From arriving to leaving this hotel it is perfection!! On arrival we were given a lovely glass of bubbly while the friendly staff give you a detailed map and tips on tours and great restaurants. Then shown to our room, we had been upgraded to a suite, it was fantastic, we even had a Jacuzzi and sun terrace......what a start. The room was really special and we had all amenities. Breakfast was nice with choice of cold buffet also a menu of hot dishes. This is a Michelin star restaurant and breakfast did not disappoint. Along with sampling the breakfast during our stay, we also tried the mojito from the bar......fantastic, even better if you take them up on the roof terrace bar.....the views of Rome are stunning. The first Rome Art Hotel is a stunning peaceful oasis in a busy, busy city. Its professional and friendly staff are there on hand for whatever you need. Cant wait to return.

"hotel was amazing... general info too about Rome"
hotel was lovely and spacious (huge modern bathroom: and that's a standard room too), literally 30secs walk from termini station. Transport from the airport to the station is only 14 euros by train (which is connected to the airport) so don't waste your money with a taxi as we never needed one during the whole trip (if you are going to get a taxi, make sure it's a white taxi). The hotel itself & the staff offered everything we needed and we were shocked it was only 4 star. The only time we ate in the hotel restaurant was for breakfast, but that is nothing to shout about as no foreign country can match a good hearty full-English, We just ate out & skipped breakfast. Moving on we stayed for 4 days which was easily enough to get through every tourist attraction in Rome. We worked out for 2 people your looking at about £100-150 a day spends for everything. However there are things that obviously cost more like queue jumping at the Vatican. Getting around, there is a hop-on-hop-off bus down the road which comes 10mins, £20 a day is definitely worthwhile as it takes you to every place of interest you will want to go to. if you want to walk, everything apart from Vatican city, is within 20mins walk of the hotel. One place I would seriously recommend going is Castel Sant Angelo as the view of the Vatican from the top is amazing £12 with a nice museum too. Overall, Hotel 5 star quality, for such a cheap price. 'When' I return to Rome, 100% guaranteed we will be staying here

"Nice hotel close to the city centre"
The room we stayed in was in another apartment block which was 1 minute down the road from the main hotel/reception. The building we stayed in had some old features, including an ancent wooden lift and marble stairs. There appeared to be residents living in the block so our hotel only had a few rooms available here. This was not a problem as there are plently of secure doors/gates. The room itself was clean and the decor included some old-fasioned touches. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The only thing we noticed was that unless we opened the windows in the room, there was a lingering musty smell. This was probably from the drains and wasn't so bad that an open window couldn't sort out. The other thing is that there is little natural light in the room. Given that most buildings in Rome appeared the same, I think this would be universal, so no real reason to turn a room down at Belides H.R. Breakfast was served at the main hotel block but this wasn't a problem since we were only 1 minute down the road. Breakfast was of a high standard: cereal, toast, fresh croissants/cake, yoghurts, fruit. Breakfast staff were attentative and friendly but also left you in peace to enjoy your food. Our hotel was close to the city centre but a little out the way of the main tourist areas. We were able to walk to the Vatican in 10-15 minutes. We had a good choice of restaurants and cafes to eat in the area that did not have that 'tourist trap' feel.
