Location! Location! Location! This is my 5th time in Rome. It’s close and walkable to every tourist attraction except the Vatican. Great and very helpful staff. Safe for solo traveler. The only downside is the shower which is so small like a cruise ship shower but other than that it’s perfect for me.

Very clean, friendly staff, great customer service, well located, walking distance to the attractions, Bus, and Metro. Close to a Supermarket. I would like to recommend to buy in a Supermarket instead of little food markets because they raise the price when they see you are a tourist.

Location, location, location!!! This was great hotel due to its location and staff! It’s not the Marriott by any means but it was safe, clean, and comfortable. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

Affordable, friendly value based hotel
I was in Rome for 6 nights and wanted be near the city center. 939 was the perfect fit for me. I was traveling alone and didn’t require much as far as amenities. This is not a fancy place but it fit my bill. Clean safe and friendly. Red at reception was a star! The hotels proximity to Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiore, The Trevi fountain is excellent. I’m was able to visit them before the crowds overwhelmed the Piazza's. It’s easy to find from the Metro stop at the Spanish Steps, next yo the River so access to the Vatican and Prati are a short walk. For the single traveler or couple who just need a home base, no frills, convenient and affordable place to rest your head at night, 939 ticks all the boxes.

Service was amazing. And the size of the rooms are quite spacious and there are a variety of size rooms with decent prices. Rooms also with shared bathrooms and the beds are quite comfy. I enjoyed my stay and had booked another two nights. The had a bedroom with shared bathroom. I was impressed even with the size given and price offered. The washrooms are perfect size and yes… there is tons of hot water. AC in each rooms I stayed work great. I would highly recommend this place. It’s so central and close to walking areas to enjoy the sights. Lots of restaurants around. So easy to get to & from the train station as well. The ladies here at the reception are nice and very friendly and super helpful.

Pleasant stay at 939 Hotel
Convenient location, the room fit 3 independent beds for our group. The air conditioner was nice but hard to control, The staff was pleasant. Plan ahead and schedule taxis before weekend plans are made. Overall a nice hotel to walk to tourist attractions.

Terrible hôtel! Please avoid it at all costs. For how expensive it is I was given a room full of mould and all wet. Coudnt sleep all night. The next morning asked to get changed and the receptionist said oh yes I know the room is mould my because it flooded. Why did they give it to me in the first place? There is no hot water in this hotel!!!! Cold showers. My brother came to my room to have a meal because there is no place to eat in this hotel like a lounge and the receptionist called me every 20 mins asking when my brother was leaving? Receptionist super rude and when you report issues, all he said I can’t do anything. I feel robbed, paying so much per night for a terrible terrible experience.

I didn't sleep in the room I booked for. There's no need to spend more for a better room as they will put you in any available room, even if it's to downgrade you. On top of that, the room was smelly, had hairs in the sinks and hot water took 3min to arrive. There are many other options in rome, don't go in this one.

This was a very last minute booking. The room was small but sufficient. There was no plug in the sink or bidet and the water pressure was medium to low. Plenty of towels and extra pillow. A very small (2 person lift) to the 2nd floor but still several steps to climb.

We cannot fault the friendliness of the staff at reception, nor the excellent location of this hotel. However at the price we paid and in the previous recommendations listed (which could not have been for this room???) we were NOT expecting a family room to have a tiny window (with no view), a bed with a broken base (which in fairness was replaced…but only after 1 night of very uncomfortable sleep) and a bathroom that smelt like a sewer…( this was no fault of the cleaning staff…but due to plumbing which management had clearly not taken care of) . This room is NOT appropriate for families or anyone not up to bunker type conditions. Generally shabby for the price we paid.

Our room was small and charming. Great price for the quality. However, I must say that the staff at check-in and check out were the best!! They made our stay most enjoyable and really helped us out when needed. Excellent retausrants and transportation nearby. I will definitely stay here again.

Doesn't worth the money!! Bad service!
The employees are very nice and want to help, but for any problem that arises, they called their manager and he treated the problem as a notification of my deficiency and not as something that needed to be solved. In 4 nights I moved to 3 different rooms due to problems. The first room was a room with a lower rating than the one I paid for: I intentionally paid for a room with a balcony, so they moved me to a room with a balcony only the air conditioner did not cool at all. The first night I slept without air conditioning, the second night one of the workers remembered that there was a fan and gave me a fan, and only on the third night did a room become available to which I moved again. In the last two rooms there was no stopper for the bath, so it was impossible to take a bath. Why is the stopper for the bathroom in the first place at the reception, and not in the bathroom? Why, if it is known that there is a problem with the air conditioning, do they not invite a technician to fix it? When I complained that I would publish the deficiencies, I was told that the boss said "OK". Not worth the money in any way!

This hotel was horrible!!!! Its located in a nice area but the condition of the room was terrible. A strong mildew odor in the whole room. The bathroom was dirty and a strong odor came out of the drain. I do not recommend this hotel. Few roaches and trouble breathing.

While the staff tried to correct the myriad issues we had, they could not make up for the terrible condition of the room. The air conditioner was literally raining inside our room once we had it on for 5 minutes. Initially, they told us it couldn't be fixed until the next day, so i asked for a bucket so our table and floor would not be soaked. Then we tried to take showers and the shower head connector crumbled so all i had to shower with was a hose. After that i complained and asked them to fix it or move us. They were able to drain the air conditioner and unplug its drain and replace the hose connector several hours later. The place had a strong mildew smell that wouldn't go away with either air conditioning or opening the window. After the air conditioner was repaired, the room still felt humid and the towels never dried during the 2 days, though it was cool. Beyond that, the tiny bathroom had a broken toilet seat, the toilet was placed so you had to wedge your knees under the sink to sit there (thus likely the reason the seat became disconnected from the bowl). The shower had mildew in the grout and on the shower head. The shower door would not open fully unless you lifted it over a tile ledge, making it difficult to get in and out. The list goes on. The only reason this didn't get 1 star is that the staff were so kind, helpful, and apologetic. The location is great. However, i would not stay there again unless some renovation was done

The room that can occupy four people left a lot to be desired. The AC unit worked but had excessive condensation dripping from it. The bathroom had a cramped layout…an obvious add-on. We stayed in four places during our two week Italy visit. This was our place was our least favorite. For the price, you can probably find something much better.

The staff was wonderful! Very friendly and we felt welcomed. The hotel was near the Spanish steps and the Pantheon. Everything was walking distance. There are 2 water fountains across the street as well. You have to be buzzed in and it felt very safe. The room was clean and small but all we needed. It rained one day of our stay and we were allowed to use their personal Umbrella!! So thank you for everything!

The staff was amazing. I had a problem and Mark was extraordinarily helpful. He also did what he could to accommodate the needs of our group. WARNING this hotel has steps to get to the elevator level. The bathrooms in this hotel are almost unusable. You either have to sit sideways on the toilet in order to use it or you have to put your feet in the bidet. The showers are awful. One shower opened up so close to the sink there was only 8” of clearance, making it impossible for larger guests to even get into. The beds were uncomfortable and there is no daily room service (cleaning, fresh towels, etc). Beware of rooms 12, 13 & particularly 14. You must duck your head and use a wooden staircase to get to these rooms. My sister was in 14 for one night. We called it the dungeon. She was moved into another room the second night. The location of the hotel was great.

The front desk staff were nice and the place had a good location. Sadly it was not clean. The bathroom had some mysterious splatter on the wall. The “towels” were full of holes. They infrequently restocked our shampoo and two days only gave us a bar of soap no more shampoo and they were individually wrapped one time use. The room was very small which we were expecting. The lighting was so dim that it was hard to see. Our sink broke and was leaking for a full day. I had to ask for a bucket. The staff was good at handling this. Red was the first front desk person we met and he was lovely. No slight to any of the staff but I would not stay at this hotel again. Pay more and get something that’s at least clean.
