Ideal Rome city break accommodation.Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: As above. But please note this is a B&B not a hotel.
Cons: All good but important to realise that apartment is on the third floor. 77 steps, no lift, so would not work for anyone who couldn't manage the climb
Location: Close to Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Forum etc etc as well as being almost adjacent to Basilica St Clemente.
Location excellent with all tourist sites within walking distance. We had the small suite which provided quirky but comfortable accommdation ideal for a city break. Nothing too much trouble for hostess. Excellent continental breakfast included. Good speed reliable wifi. Aircon. Lots of cheap eateries again within a very short walk. 10 minute walk to Metro which gives an alternative option to walking when visiting the Vatican.

Fantastisk servicePosted May 29, 2014 on Hotels.com

Beautiful room, and wonderful hospitalityPosted May 26, 2014
Pros: LOCATION, location, location. And Aklesia's hospitality . . .
Location: The location was perfect - walking distance to colosseum, pantheon, forum, Trastevere, Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain. restaurants, gelaterias, etc.
We had a wonderful time during our first visit to Rome, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aklesia B&B. The location was perfect for walking to all of the sites we wanted to see, e.g. colosseum, pantheon, forum, Trastevere, Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, etc. and the metro station was a 5-minute walk away, too. There were several very good restaurants nearby that Aklesia recommended, as well as several gelaterias. Aklesia was the perfect hostess - making us feel welcome and giving tourist advice. Our Blue Room was beautifully decorated, and very clean. We had a view of the top of the colosseum from our room, which just added to the charm of the B&B. Would definitely recommend Aklesia and her B&B to others!!

Great location perfect B&BPosted May 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Aklesia is the perfect choice when staying in Rome... We could see the coloseum from our bedroom window as it was literally just down the road (as was the perfectly located Metro station)... Aklesia made us feel SO welcome in her home and we felt we were really being looked after, whether it was her ensuring we left each morning with food in our stomach's, giving restaraunt recommendations or simply ensuring that we were dressed suitably for where we were headed each day, she was the perfect host. Both me and my lady would visit this beautiful wondorous city again in a heartbeat and would definately stay here next time...

We had a terrific time in Rome and found Aklesia a superb host. Highly recommend this quaint upstairs apartment, for couples especially. The location is terrific, and the rooms are warmly decorated.

Make sure to book the right roomPosted Apr 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our stay in Rome was really lovely but I was a little disappointed when I arrived to find that we were given the red room and not the gold room that I thought I had booked. I had done a lot of research into accommodation and it was a gift to my boyfriend. I was looking forward to having a balcony with a view of the Colloseum but Akleisa informed me that I had booked the red room. Though my booking confirmation email clearly states the room I booked had a balcony. Anyway, the red room was also lovely and we were happy with it in the end. It's a great location, 5 mins walk from the colloseum and Forum, very clean and comfortable with a lovely view from the roof terrace. Akleisa is very friendly and helpful. I wanted to pay with my credit card but they didn't accept Mastercard, just Visa which is very stange and it says on their website that they accept Mastercard. It was a bit of a nuisance because I had to take cash out and get charged quite a lot for using ATMs abroad with my bank.

Great hosts and locationPosted Nov 1, 2013
My husband I spent 4 nights at Aklesia's B & B. Aklesia and her husband Gianfranco were great. They gave us great suggestions for sights and restaraunts. The location was 2 blocks from the Colosseum and a Metro Station. We would highly recommend this place.

Great location, lovely hostPosted May 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Aklesia's B&B was fantastic. The location near the Colosseum is perfect - you're a 5 minute walk from two metro stops and across the street from the bus stop which will quickly get you anywhere you need to go. Not to mention you get to walk past the fabulous Colosseum daily! The rooms have very high ceilings and are spacious, which was a welcome change compared to the other places we stayed in Italy. But the best part is Aklesia herself - she was a most gracious and helpful host! She recommended excellent nearby restaurants, airport transportation, sights to see, and anything else we wanted to know. She serves breakfast every morning, and even brought a tray to our room on a morning when I was sick and slept in. All in all, a fantastic place to stay.
