Great hosts and locationPosted Nov 1, 2013
My husband I spent 4 nights at Aklesia's B & B. Aklesia and her husband Gianfranco were great. They gave us great suggestions for sights and restaraunts. The location was 2 blocks from the Colosseum and a Metro Station. We would highly recommend this place.

Great location, lovely hostPosted May 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Aklesia's B&B was fantastic. The location near the Colosseum is perfect - you're a 5 minute walk from two metro stops and across the street from the bus stop which will quickly get you anywhere you need to go. Not to mention you get to walk past the fabulous Colosseum daily! The rooms have very high ceilings and are spacious, which was a welcome change compared to the other places we stayed in Italy. But the best part is Aklesia herself - she was a most gracious and helpful host! She recommended excellent nearby restaurants, airport transportation, sights to see, and anything else we wanted to know. She serves breakfast every morning, and even brought a tray to our room on a morning when I was sick and slept in. All in all, a fantastic place to stay.

Wonderful B&BPosted Nov 1, 2012 on Hotels.com
Absolutely loved our stay! Our hosts went above and beyond all expectations, very helpful and knowledgeable about Rome. Great recommendations on where to eat and what to see. We stayed in the Golden room, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean A+ all round.

Absolute PleasurePosted Aug 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
Excellent value. Fantastic service and personable hosts. Aklesia herself is a delight. The neighborhood is not the most ritzy, but short walks to major sites and restaurants more than make up for this. For those looking at other B&B's, you can stop searching. This is the one for you.

Must stay in RomePosted Jul 31, 2012 on Hotels.com
We had an amazing time at Aklesia B&B. It is very close to the colosseum and a variety of excellent local resturants. The service and cleanliness of room was outstanding. Aklesia was very welcoming and a great hostess. Lot's of stories and recommendations for where to eat, visit and how to get about. The room had a huge pile of travel books and magazines for referrence and she even has a log book from previous guests who provide some amazing recommendations. If you are thinking of going to Rome and want to immerse yourself in the local culture and avoid the big chains then this is the place to stay.

Great B&B, very nice room close to the ColosseumPosted Jun 28, 2012
Pros: Clean room with personalized service and attention to details
Location: A 5 min walk to the Colosseum. Also 5-10 min walk to 2 Metro stations. Use the nearby Manzoni metro station to go to the Vatican.
This is a Bed and Breakfast run by a nice Italian couple. The place is at a short 5 min walk to the Colosseum and major attractions. Also 5-10 min walk to 2 Metro stations which was very convenient. Our particular room had windows and balcony with view to the Colosseum and nearby streets, AC, a small refrigerator, WiFi, and its own bathroom with shower. The couple, Aklesia her husband Giancarlo, strive to make your visit special with personalized service and attention to details. They provide practical advise about your visit to the Rome tourist sites, restaurants, museums, metro, etc; just ask. Both speak English. The breakfast is superb. The only detail you need to be aware is that this is on a 4th story (for Italians 3rd story is our equivalent to 4th story), and without elevator. Besides this, this B&B is an overall great place that gets a definite 5. Visited Rome June 17-21, 2012.

Rome on a budgetPosted Jun 17, 2012
Pros: We would stay there again!!
Cons: 72 stairs
Great location. Very handy to all the major attractions and an easy walk for most of them. We found a good variety of places to eat also. Our hosts we very friendly and helpful with information about Rome. The only warning I would give is that the room is on the 3 floor and there is no lift. So if you have heavy bags or unable to use stairs this B&B would not be suitable. The owners did help with our bags so we can't fault them. It's a case of an old appartment in the old part of Rome. In my opinion a small price to pay for the great location.
