Excellent location!

Pros: Outstanding location. Clean, comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Cons: The elevator is tiny! (a retrofit - can't really do anything about it?)
Location: Pantheon; squares, fountains and churches nearby; plenty of restaurants. Coliseum 1 mi; Trevi 1/3 mi;
This was our first time in Rome and this was a great place to stay. The Pantheon is nearly in the center of ancient and renaissance Rome. You can walk to almost everything from here. Nights are quiet and peaceful because this is in a pedestrian zone, yet taxis are just halfway down the square. The Trevi fountain is an easy 8 min walk along a pedestrian mall. The Roma Pass is quite good -- you get two admissions plus discounts and a three-day metro pass. Use it to visit the Coliseum and get in a special line that saves about 1 an hour. The Segway tour was really fun. Ride a bus; take the train to Ostia Antica, a large ancient roman town close to the ocean. Don't miss the Borghese Galleria - reservations are a must and they have the excellent statues and smallest crowds. The Vatican is way overcrowded but interesting.
