Beauty and the BeastPosted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: everything it more than met our needs
Location: The location is not too far from the sites, it is a quiet area and very close to the park
Just to clarify the beast is meant for me (Mike) As holidays go this was unbelievable, the Hotel was excellent and ideally situated if you do not mind too much walking. Mind you the tram system was just outside and the Metro close by(15min walk through beautiful park and gardens) The beauty was my partner (Lisa) and Rome, both were amazing. Every day we visited the sites and could not believe the views and artistry utterly amazing. I would totally recommend the Hotel (excellent and we are going back soon) and Rome as a place to visit more than once as it is mind blowing

Roman HolidayPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, location, quiet, park like setting, close to sights. With such great food, walking kept the weight off as we crossed the city.
Cons: Prepare the swimming pool to open as soon as it heats up. Weather was in high 20s/low 30s, but pool was closed!
Location: On a map it looks out of the way, but Borghese park is easily crossed to access Via Vittorio Veneto or Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso. We walked!
The Suite at the Aldrovandi provide us with a home away from home, complete with everything we needed. It did take a little exploring to find a market, but in the end everything was easily walked to. The front desk though small provided us with excellent restaurant and tour recommendations, so we were able to enjoy the Vatican, Colesseum, Pantheon, and world class shopping in the five days we had. Tours are a must to see the sights without extremely long waits. The neighbourhood is semi residential and the very friendly and quiet. Will stay again when we return.

Lovely hotel in lovely spotPosted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent in fact. The place was spotless.
Cons: Rooms in front of hotel noisy with road traffic. ? Better double glazing perhaps.
Location: Borghese gardens great to visit. Hire cycles nearby and go cycling along the river or in the park. National art museum at bottom of the hill.
Great spot opposite the borghese gardens we had a great time walking and cycling round the area. Cycle hire best just at bottom of hill at entrance to gardens as you can then take bike along the river as well as in gardens. Tram 3 and 19 easy to hop on and off to main city areas.

Position of hotelPosted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Room was lovely. Staff and breakfast
Cons: Somewhere to sit outside on nice days when swimming pool is closed during winter
Location: a fair walk from Rome town center but trams and buses pass door so venture on public transport.
Excellent rooms. lack of comfortable seating in lounge when sofa bed is made up. Road outside hotel is busy and can be noisy of a night Staff were excellent Make sure you get a tram, bus and metro map as walking can get very tiring

Great hotel with very friendly staffPosted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Great rooms with a view over the pool
Location: Next to a lovely park. Good location but take your walking shoes!
We couldn't have wished for a better room (huge lounge with balcony and cooking facilities). Bedroom and en suite were also spacious. A bottle of wine was there for us on arrival which was a lovely welcome. The staff were helpful, friendly and courteous throughout our stay.

Great locations in a quiet part of RomePosted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: staff, location, breakfast
Location: Very close to the Borghese Gallery and Museum
We arrived exhausted after several flight delays, and the staff had our room ready for us, and even made coffee for us, even though the kitchen had already closed. The streetcar stops directly in front of the hotel, so it is cheap and easy to get to the Colosseum or the Vatican. This hotel is located in a quieter part of Rome away from the madness, but it is still easily walkable or via streetcar. There is a streetcar ticket kiosk a few blocks down the hill to the southwest, where tickets are 1.50 Euro or 6 Euro for a daypass. Breakfast is excellent, in the back courtyard next to the pool. Our room was very comfortable, and the kitchen is very nice for dining in and saving a little money. There aren't many dining options near the hotel, but the trade off is a very relaxing location.

Just off city centre but easily reachable.Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: As above plus good bathroom with huge towels, tea/coffee replenished daily, large bed, plenty of storage space.
Location: Lovely Villa Borghese park and zoo nearby, easy walk through park to Piazzale Flaminio. The Museum of Modern Art was particularly fascinating.
Very friendly staff, a comfortable room, free wi-fi, excellent breakfast. Trams stop right outside so getting into the city centre is quick and easy, but it's quieter than being in the centre.

Splendid ComfortPosted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: quality accommodation and pleasant staff
Cons: greater access to the bar, only open in the summer period.
Location: Great location if you do not want to stay in the city and don't mind a walk to get there, great for the rugby ground 45min walk
The hotel was exactly as described and the staff were very pleasant and could do not do enough to help you.

Apartment Hotel in RomePosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: We really enjoyed the space and facilities in our suite. The staff was also exceptionally friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful. Free wifi.
Cons: Many channels, but television was limited to mainly Italian ones. CNN an BBC news stations were all there was in English. DVD player is provided.
Location: Hotel is on the edge of a park which is very beautiful and has the Zoo and the Villa Borghese Museum. Restaurants were a good walk or taxi ride away.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aldrovandi Suites situated on the edge of Borghese Park. Our Junior Suite had spacious living /dining room with fully equipped galley kitchen (pull out sofa as well) and a large bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed, nice linens and plenty of closet space, cupboards and drawers. Lovely appointed bathroom with plenty of towels, toiletries, full tub and shower and bidet. Windows open to the outside for fresh air. Everything clean and fresh daily Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Beautiful courtyard, and indoor common areas. Wish we had been there in season to use the pool and courtyard. It looked lovely. Included breakfast was plentiful, lots of variety and nicely presented. There was a small commercial area a ten minute walk away with a well stocked supermarket. Even though the hotel is situated away from the city centre we found that the walk to Piazza Popoulo was only 10 minutes away through the park which was safe and well lit even at night. That lead right on to the Via del Corso and access to anywhere else.
