What a fabulous find! I can’t imagine being more central to all the locations & sites. We walked to the Pantheon, colosseum, Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps, and campo di fiori. The rooms are quaint & charmingly without feeling cramped. The staff is incredibly accommodating and the lobby is staffed 24/7. Even had a great rooftop area. We can’t wait to go back!

From start to finish this hotel tried their best to ruin our time in every possible way. As soon as we walked in we saw the confusion on their face when they realized they booked us the wrong room. They took us up the elevator and showed us a twin bed instead of the queen and twin bed that we paid for. After we complained we went down to the lobby as they prepared a side room, literally a room that can only be accessed from the side of the building with a door that’s nearly impossible to open and with no elevator as they forced us up two flights of stairs to a room that wasn’t even ready yet when they told us to go. They didn’t even offer to take anything up either, so we had to take 4 bags of heavy luggage up steep, narrow steps up to a room with no view at all and with no discount of refund mentioned. The worst part was the service, however, as mentioned before the door was nearly impossible to get into and so if we ever had to leave we had to go back to reception to get back in and they were rude and unhelpful every time we asked. They didn’t care about fixing their mistake nor were they in any way sorry they made it, they were just bothered that they had to do anything for their guests after that already took our money. On our last day when we asked them to call the shuttle to the hotel that they repeatedly told us they could do, however when the time actually came the shuttle never showed up and we had to race down the streets to find a taxi! We demand a refund.

We are sorry that you had this perception of your stay. Sometimes the Reception is very busy, so we needs 5 minutes to show the accommodation, if serving a long queue of people. Anyway, the room is a TRIPLE room in the main building, located at the 2nd floor, and provided with 3 terraces with view on the rooftop. It took 3 minutes to finish the extra bed, because check-in time is at 3 pm and cleaning was ending at that precise moment. The door is fully functional, you just have to pull and push it. Concernig the taxi, the situation is difficult for the CITY in general, as it's full of tourists and the City Hall has problems to manage the bulk of visitors in town: so sometimes it takes 10 minutes to find a taxi available, you just have to be patient. In the Hotel description it's speciefied that there is no bell boy, at last. Thanks for your feedback!

The staff were friendly and helpful from the start. Breakfast was satisfactory and Italian which we enjoyed (not large and overly stuffing). The location was exceptional - walkable to most sites within 10-15 min. The Vatican was a straight easy walk that took around 40 min each way.

This stay was roughly a 10 min walk between everything. The room was great. Clean, spacious. The staff for the most part was incredibly helpful, I’d say a little more helpful from when they realized I was Italian. Nonetheless, it’s a more affordable option because Romes prices are hiked crazy high so this place most definitely did the job.

We loved the room we were moved into. However, the first room did not meet the expectations mentioned in the room description on Expedia. Make sure to call and verify the exact room you'll be booked into. We booked a standard deluxe room with a terrace and separate bedroom, for 4 people. However, the intifada room we were placed into had no terrace and the sofa bed was hardly for 2 people. It rocked back and forth. I complained and showed the photos of the room I booked. We were moved, thankfully, into the one room with a terrace and separate bedroom. I recommend reaching out before arriving. The room differences were night and day. There is only 1 room with a terrace and separate bedroom. For a family with kids that uses the hotel room a lot, this was a drastic difference for our stay.

The bathroom had a horrible sewer smell, heater in the room had no control button, it was too hot and noisy. The old age host at the front desk was grumpy and very rude.

Cute little hotel, there was a rooftop patio where we sat and had our lunch. Our room was in a separate building. Being an old building, there was a retrofitted lift which barely had room for my husband and I and our carryon bags. Room was nice and clean. It had heat, but unfortunately we could only turn on or off and could not control the temperature. So it was either cold, or very warm. Breakfast was simple, but enough to fill us for a busy day of walking.

Fantastic choice. Definitely recommended.
This hotel was the perfect choice! We are a family of 4 and visited Rome to see as many points of interest as possible. The location of the hotel was excellent. All monuments were a maximum of 15 minutes walk, except Vatican city which we took a taxi for €14 (we used the "free now" app) and another €15 for our return. Taxis at the Vatican city asked for €28 for our return and we said no. The hotel room was very clean and had two separate areas for sleep, something very convinient, given my daughters are teenagers and needed their privacy. Around the hotel there are a lot of restaurants either for a cheap quick bite or to sit at a table and get served. On the "down side", breakfast was nothing special, just standard items everyday served at the table and the wi-fi was very unstable. But it is a three star hotel so it is forgiven. If we visit Rome again, this hotel will be our first choice.

Location is good however hotel staff needs be a bit nicer. Arguing with the clerk about how old my child is would not be a way to start a stay. I think I know how old my own child is! A/C was on but at a very low level with no access to controls so useless in a hot weather. We had an ant infestation in the room and when checking out, the front desk knew about this and just said it was because it's an old building... We are in Rome; there are ONLY old buildings! We paid for 2 rooms even if the ant infested room was not used and we slept 4 in a small bed.

Perfect location & amazing breakfast
This is a really underrated hotel. I didn’t expect much because it’s actually fairly affordable but really surprised us! The location is super ideal because it is close enough to all the main attractions in Rome, but far enough away that you aren’t crowded with tourists and have amazing local cusine right outside the front door. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The property has this beautiful outdoor rooftop terrace that we had some gelato on and watched the sunset. It was empty when we went although we came in peak tourist season (June). The best part of this hotel was the breakfast. Hands down the best breakfast we had on a two week trip in Rome & the Amalfi coast. It’s free with a room and you get the best cappuccinos, fresh croissants, prosciutto and yogurt. So yummy and would highly recommend. The next time I visit Rome I will be returning to Antica Locanda.

Next to local restaurants, 15 min walk to the Colosseum and very useful for our last day when we could do a Covid test at a Farmacia (only the one with the white tent outside) and head over to Coliseum one last time to walk around. It's an apartment type so Roxanne walked us into a building 2 doors down from the check in office. We got a 2-bedroom quarter on the 2nd floor. Both beds are super comfy. The pillows are excellent just wished we had more. The little bedroom has a window facing the street and we didn't know to shut the shutters, so it was bright all night, but the maid service closed it for us the following day. A bit noisy but hey, you're certainly in Rome. Breakfast is down the street at a cafe next to a water fountain. Now, that's the real Rome experience right there. The quality was good except we kept wanting more salami and hot white toast and they were a bit reluctant to hand out more. Hot chocolate was for a charge so my 23 yo old autistic son was a bit disappointed. Overall, it's still good and we were there right at 8 to beat the crowd (breakfast is 8-10am). Right after that, everyone came in and it was quite crowded. The front desk helped us call for a taxi to FCO at 6:30AM and was very friendly. The only suggestions we would have is to provide some hair conditioner. They only have a shampoo gel and my hair was tangled badly so I was in the shower for longer to work out my hair and we ran out of hot water quickly. We did mention that.

The ambiance was great, the breakfast was delicious, there was always someone at the front desk. Our window/view was nice. The bathroom was marble and pretty. The shower would flood though because it wouldn’t drain. The staff was very friendly.

The property was beautiful, old stone and winding staircase, each guest room was named after a famous painter and wonderfully decorated. Rooms are small, but spotlessly clean! Bathroom incl. tiny glass shower, bidet, and plenty of towels etc. There is a beautiful two tier rooftop deck, and breakfast is served in a stone enclosed first floor room, so lovely. The coffee and hot cocoa was the best ever!!

Absolute gem of a place in central Rome - quiet to
Really lovely room - the hotel does have a lift but we were in a separate building on ground floor. Only small snags were shower easily filled up with water (not a huge issue, they just need to give it a bit of a plunging) and initially there was a little confusion over whether we'd paid or not when we extended our stay by 1 night. Soon resolved when we showed the receipt. Staff couldn't do enough to help us - breakfast was lovely (ham, cheese, bread, yoghurt, croissant, choice of hot drink) and room left impeccably clean each day with fresh towels.
