“Charming old Palazzo”
The room was great for the money. Very convenient location, walked to Colliseum and Forum, bus tour pickup across the cathedral plaza in front, resturants in different price categories nearby. Hotel itself has no amenities but is charming. Our room overlooked a central courtyard, pretty with tables, umbrellas and plants. Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely stay there again.
“Big Rooms”
This hotel has big rooms by European standards. The rooms appear very classical. They're also clean. If room size is of concern and you're expecting American-sized hotel rooms, book this hotel. Don't look for hotels after you've arrived in Rome. The leftover hotels are substandard.
“Great location - decent hotel in Rome”
This hotel was very comfortable and accomodating for our 2 night stay in Rome. It was an excellent location for sight-seeing, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there was no public computer to use, but there was an Internet Cafe across the street, which was convenient. Our room was clean, and the bathroom sufficient. For a Europe hotel, it was fine. Under US standards, maybe sub-par, but we were so tired each night we didn't really care. The building itself is well-maintained and historic. The included breakfast was a great start to our day as well. My only complaint was that the bathroom could have been a little cleaner, the hair dryer wasn't very effecient, and the showerhead didn't work properly. Overall, we would probably stay here again just for the location and the safety of the hotel. (The Colosseum and Roman Forum are within walking distance)
“Decent hotel if they honor your room type and you get a good price”
The hotel is located in a nice spot- close to the train station and metro. The area always felt safe even at night. The rooms were a little worn with peeling wallpaper etc. The bathrooms were decent sized but the shower in both rooms we had leaked and there was mold on the walls in one bathroom. The breakfast was pretty good but get there early or many things will be gone. One issue I had was you can't take the stairs all the way up or down to your room. You had to take an elevator which was small and very slow. The staff was pretty nice but when we returned to Rome to stay the second time they downgraded our room from a quad to a triple due to the fact that "we only had three people" even though I paid for a quad room to ensure some extra space. They refused to refund a portion of the $300 a night rate to accommodate the downgrade and wouldn't move us to another room. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I most likely won't return to this hotel for this reason.
“Stay away”
This is NOT a 4 star hotel. I went to Rome to celebrate my birthday and none of my husband special requests were satisfied. The room was tiny, small and far from being clean bathroom... Breakfast...you can get a cappuccino or café latté or coffee...the rest - just not worth it...cheap bakery and meat. Walking around Rome I saw much better 4 star hotels.
