Lovely hotel, great staff.Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The place was comfortable, had air conditioning (a real boon in the hot weather) and had a good shower and bath/Jacuzzi.
Cons: Double glazing the windows in the small front facing bedrooms and sound-proofing between rooms as the plumbing is a little loud.
Location: Very close (10 minutes walk) to the Vatican and the Castel San Angelo. Public transport very close and easy to use.
We found the room very nice, clean and comfortable and the staff were excellent. All of the desk managers spoke at least basic English and were very professional. Breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. We didn't have a single problem with any of this. The single problem is that rooms at the front of the building overlook a busy main road with tram and bus routes on it so it can be difficult if you're a light sleeper, as I am.

Nice hotel close to the Vatican.Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff, located near to the Vatican, quiet room, and a great breakfast buffet made this hotel great!
Cons: The only thing to improve upon would be the availability of WiFi in the room.
Location: This hotel is only a few blocks from the Vatican. Access to the rest of Rome is just across the bridge. We walked, but others may prefer a taxi.
We (family of four - 2 adults and 2 teenagers) arrived at Atlante Garden Hotel in the early morning on the free shuttle from the airport. Since our room was not available yet, the hotel allowed us to store our luggage and use their facilities to freshen up. The staff was very helpful in providing directions, recommendations for dinner, and spoke good English. The elevator is very small but adds to the ambiance of the hotel. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and had a large bathroom. Couldn't get WiFi in the room but it was available in the breakfast room and lobby. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of pastries, fruit, cereal, coffee, and juices.

Good LocationPosted Aug 17, 2014
When we arrived we were told we would have to stay in their apartments around the corner for the night as our hotel room was not available until the next day. Our bags were taken there for us. The room smelled a little musty and was a bit dated but overall fine for the night. For this inconvenience they gave both of us free breakfast for the four day stay. The hotel room was fine, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and had a great choice of food. The location was great for the Vatican and castle and hop on/off tourist buses. It was a 10 minute walk to the underground which was also very handy.

Nice hotel to visit RomePosted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: 1. close to vatican 2. cleanliness 3. we were lucky to have a very quit room
Cons: you can find this in the cons I already described
Location: I already wrote this in the description
Room was very clean with good air conditioning (a must if you are from N America and you visit during summer time). Breakfast was of very good quality even though it did not change too much from day to day; good american style coffee. Hotel has a terasse where you can have a glass in the evening (and a smoke). Acceptable restaurants ($ wise) can be found very close. Proximity to Vatican and other sites of great interest gives lots of choices and liberty. A corner store (ask hotel personnel) is nearby and this will allow you to buy some cheaper food than what you will find in restaurants (if you'd like to have something else than restaurant food), not to mention the water (22 cents a bottle compared to 1 to 3 Eu in the city) ... and the wine ... the cheapest is 2 Eu for 1 L (haha you'll pay min 7 Eu for a glass in the restaurants and not necessary better than what you'll buy in store). Cons: 1. cannot use the terasse to eat your own food or to have an evening drink 2. fridge in the room was quite a joke, actually leaving the water bottle in from of the air conditioning gave colder results 3. the safe in the room cannot be used; however the hotel offers a box at the reception where you can store your valuable things ... this is quite uncomfortable. Conclusion: good stay, worth the money we paid given the shameless prices you'll find everywhere in Italy. PS. Rome was great compared to Florence and we will come back in the coming years. 7 days were not enough to see it all!

hotel within walking distance to Vatican cityPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Close to Vatican city
Cons: For the in-room convenience: please provide tea kettle, plush robes
Location: Tour of Vatican city, the concert at Castel S.Angelo and the street entertainer at the Pizza Navona.
On our booking it indicate free airport transfer to the hotel, when we arrived at Rome that we find there's NO free airport transfer from Ciampino airport, only the Fiumicino airport do, which we have to pay our way to the hotel and back to the airport. In future we'll Check with the hotel to confirm whether they do free airport transfer from which airport before we book. This hotel do not provide in-room kettle, so you can not make yourself a cup of tea, you have to buy. Also there's no bath robe, For a 4* rated hotel its fail short of our expectation. The only good point of this hotel being its located only less than 5 minute walk to Vatican City and the metro station. There's 3 recycle bin place the front of hotel so you can't really miss it after a day out.

Pros: It's style suited Rome old but charming a little updating in the bathroom was needed but so much to see in Rome that the hotel for sleeping only
Cons: The bathroom were in need of update
Location: The Vatican was on the door step and the metro close by to access other destinations plenty of places to eat and shops
Fantastic experience in Rome loved all the sight so much to see and do something to see round every corner, Trevi fountain closed for cleaning was a disappointment.managed to avoid the queues by booking in advance well worth the effort. Metro easy to use although busy at times need to watch your belongings transfer from airport to hotel easy although a bit pricey on the return

Excellent location for tourist sightsPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: The roof garden was lovely. Shame we weren't allowed to eat our own food up there.
Cons: Allow guests to eat their own food up there.
Location: Vatican was 5 minutes walk - perfect.
Good room for a short stay - perfect to come back to as a base.

Excellent staff make the difference.Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Staff. Breakfast. Free pickup from airport (sadly not automatic, or free, for return). Rooms cleaned daily, with fresh towels supplied. Air con.
Cons: Access to tea/coffee, especially on a Sunday.
Location: Excellent location. Within walking distance of main sites. Area felt lively but safe.
I would not call this a 4 star luxury hotel - the facilities advertised by expedia were not there - eg coffee/tea in lobby, coffee shop, snack bar ... but the highlight for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
