A little piece of paradise on Aventino Hill

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Location: Close to Circus Maximus and the Tiber river.
Amazing surroundings almost made me just want to stay at the hotel all day. Trees, birds and a quiet street surrounded by a neighbourhood of schools, mansions and embassies. I felt very safe and had a lovely stay at this hotel. Just near by a gorgeous park with an amazing view was a great find after a hot day of sightseeing.

Hotel Villa San Pio- a Wonderful experience!!

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: EVERYTHING!
Cons: A LONGER STAY!!
Location: I was on a business trip and the place I needed was a 3 minute walk
I booked with Expedia for Aventino Hotel, Via San Domenico. The car I requested was at the airport to meet us. .Aventino Hotel upgraded us and our 3 night stay was at Hotel VIlla San Pio.. It was superb!! The care, service, friendliness of the staff [and the car service] was without equal. The hotel was very clean. The decor, typical of Italian culture was a delightful experience. The garden and grounds are carefully tended and beautifully arrranged. Breakfast was very generous and excellent quality and every extra and request was noted and supplied. The table service was very refined. The bathrooms are very modern- like the elevator in an otherwise atmosphere of former days of BEAUTY. To me and my companion, Hotel Villa San Pio was a great and memorable three days. We certainly hope to visit there again. They deserve the highest commendation and recommendation!

Well managed, quietly located hotel.

Stayed May 2014. Clean & Comfortable with excellent staff and well located in quiet suburb close to main sights and transport. Whilst rooms are small, they are adequate and well appointed. Good value for a capital city hotel. Lovely small garden and v. good continental breakfasts.

Lovely old hotel

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: Lovely staff and huge beds. Nice outdoor area for breakfast.
Location: Get on city tour buses, restaurants, parks and lovely city walks.
Lovely hotel just on the edge of Rome in a beautiful area. Staff, especially Justin, couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming after our long travels. Hotel is very close to Colosseum and Circus Maximus where you can get on the hop on hop off tour buses. Hotel is very convenient to transport and restaurants all being within walking distance while being away from the traffic congestion and noise of central Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting Rome.

Lovely hotel in quiet part of rome

Posted May 13, 2014
Hotel aventino is a lovely hotel located in a quiet part of rome, quite close to the cirque massimo. The hotel room we had was fairly small but contained a huge bed and well equipped en suite. The breakfast was continental but had plenty of options and was.all very fresh. The hotel staff couldn't do enough to assist you from recommending restaurants, making reservations and booking taxis and all spoke excellent english and I also heard them speaking spanish and german. Overall we had a great time in Rome and at the aventino.

Lovely stay, calm and pretty location

Location: It's about ten minutes to walk to a metro station, which is Circus Maximus (or Pyramide), and the Circus is quite a location. There's a beautiful oran
The rooms were lovely, we had a room with a balcony. The beds are very comfy, the bathrooms and gorgeous and have a jacuzzi setting! The staff were very helpful and attentive, one waitress served us in the garden when we were determined to get out there, despite it being chilly. A fantastic hotel in a leafy setting, I would definitely book again. Thanks to the staff.

Nice hotel on the edge of the city centre.

Cons: Cleaning of the foom floor in particular.
Aventino is one of the seven hills on which Rome was founded. It is a nice area of the city, with lots of quiet streets on the hill itself and nice old houses. Hotel Aventino is one of these nice houses. The interior of the hotel is very pleasing and in general the room that we had was very comfortable and furnished with a nice bathroom. The TV in the room is not very large and the choice of TV channels is somewhat limited, but we were so tired tired from exploring the city that this didn't make much difference. The room was cleaned daily, but I think the cleaning of the room floor in partinular can be better. Breakfast was good, there were nice pastries and the coffee was delicious. Both the espresso and the cappuccino had a long lingering taste and were probably the best we had in Rome. I found the personnel very polite and helpful. Thanks to Etore who after he checked us in gave me a map of the area and a few tips where to go in the local area and in the city. I found the personnel very polite and helpful. Very romantic and quiet place close the Colosseum

Posted Mar 26, 2014
Pros: Great location, quiet, very romantic, off the beaten path. Very close to great touristic destinations but not too touristy or noisy.
Location: There's no restaurant in the hotel and stores are a few minutes away, a little planning is necessary, but the staff is very helpful.
Hidden gem up in a hill, just blocks away from the Colosseum and other great tourist destinations. Very attentive staff.
