Quiet, comfortable and easy access.
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: Very accommodating, know electable and friendly staff.
My 13 year old son and I visited Rome and wanted a place with a bit of room space and easy walking distance to some of the areas we wanted to see. The Aventino Hotel fit the bill and is in a very quiet neighbourhood which overlooks Trastevere from the Aventine hill. Close to both Pyramide and Circo Massimo metro stops with easy access to Trastevere. 5 minute taxi from Ostiense train station. We walked everywhere and found we could get to the Vatican in 40 minutes, the Forum in 12 and Campo Di Fiori in 25-30, depending on our level of distraction. A very nice walk is along the river below street level. A beautiful park of orange trees was 2 minutes up the hill. A good continental breakfast of fresh baked goods, fruits, cheeses, sliced meat as well as cereal and yogurt set us up for each day (alomg with a couple cappuccinos). Very quiet location with little if any evening noise.

Fantastic beautiful Hotel
Posted Jan 14, 2012
Pros: It's beauty...
Cons: Everything was terrific
Location: Perfect... Quiet, lovely yet close to everything!
This is a delightful little gem of a hotel hidden away on the Aventine in Rome. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast wonderful and the terrace garden is a small Eden. It is also within easy walking distance tomthe Circus Maximus metro stop. If you are going to Rome, do not bother going anywhere else!

Rome in the snow!
Posted Jan 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were in Rome for the weekend when they had the heaviest snow fall in 30 years, so the distance of the hotel from the centre wasn't ideal due to the walking conditions, however when the weather is fine the walk would be fine and the hotel is not very far to the forum/colluseum etc, probably about 15 minute walk. The room was lovely and very big comfortable bed. Breakfast was very nice with fresh croissants, fruit, bread, meat and cheese etc. The staff were very helpful, providing us with umbrellas, advice on local restaurants and ordering taxis etc. Would recommend this as a very reasonable price for a lovely little hotel.

Villa San Pio
Posted Jan 18, 2012
We were upgraded to the Villa San Pio which was a first class hotel, located in a quiet, idyllic location around 3 minutes walk from the City Centre. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous in every way imaginable. A little gem in the city of eternal love!

Me and my partner enjoyed a week-long stay at Hotel Aventino, which is a good hotel staffed with friendly, helpful, professional staff. It's situated in an exceptionally tranquil area, which is around 5-10 mins walk from bus or metro stations that can take you into town. We were fortunate enough to be given a room with a balcony, and being able to start your day in Rome sitting out in the sun, smelling the flowers from the garden and listening to nothing but bird song was a real treat! The staff were courteous and professional at all times, and we couldn't have asked for more in that regard, the importance they place on good service really comes across. The room was of a good quality, perhaps ever so slightly tired in places, but in my view this was greatly outweighed by the positives already mentioned and is nothing but a very minor quibble. It was kept very clean during our stay by the maids. At breakfast there is a wide choice of meats, cheese, cereals, pastries and freshly prepared fruit, providing a good start to the day. Just around the corner, on Via Marmorata, there's a great little patisserie, a deli and one street back from there, you can get a great pizza from the Bean pizzeria. This is also a great spot to catch the bus. Overall, I'd have absolutely no hesitations about staying again, or recommending it to anyone else looking for a hotel in this price bracket. We really enjoyed our stay, and are really grateful to the staff for making it so comfortable.

Aventino Hotel - Much more than advertised
Posted Jan 31, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel was exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised as what the hotel had to offer - Spacious room, Jacuzzi bath, free wireless and LAN internet and breakfast(!) all included in the quite reasonable price. The Hotels.com website did not do it justice. The website made no mention of Breakfast or internet..and I booked mainly on the location and price. The only issue we had was that when we first arrived the receptionist did not tell us breakfast was included nor did she show us where we could have breakfast and as we did not expect that breakfast was included, we made other arrangements to have breakfast elsewhere. It was only until we paid our bill that we realized that breakfast was included! A bummer. The Hotels.com website on this hotel was outdated and did no reflect the current situation. overall our stay there was fantastic and i would certainly recommend it to others.

Wonderful locaion, breakfast and staff and adjacent restaurant but be prepared for no english channels on the tv. Its a bit high priced for the size of the room.
