Quiet, picturesque location.Posted Nov 19, 2013
A delightful converted villa. Our room opened onto the courtyard. Unfortunately, a design fault made the bathroom a bit of a hazard. It looked great with all the marble, but water from the shower spilled uncontrollably onto the floor. Very slippery. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast more than adequate. We would certainly go back there but perhaps to a different room. Self service laundry a short walk down the hill. Circus Maximus a short walk in the opposite direction.

Beautiful hotel in a great neighborhoodPosted Oct 28, 2013
Aventino's location offers a perfect escape from Rome's bustling center. The Aventine Hill is like a quiet oasis that gives guests a bit of quiet for the night. With this scenic, peaceful location, however, comes a bit of a hike up the roads that lead to Aventino's hilltop vistas. Make sure you keep a taxi in mind after a long day of walking around Rome!

old and smallPosted Oct 17, 2013
Pros: nothing it was very old and worn down
Cons: the bed was extremely hard, hardest i have ever tried to sleep on
Location: we left first thing in the morning, breakfast was ok but the waitress was not in the least bit friendly
very hard to find, the room was so small, one person had to stay in bed while the other dressed

Wonderful quiet hotel!Posted Oct 1, 2013
This is a beautiful hotel on the Aventine hill. Not for first timers who want to be in the center of Rome but a charming area with good public transportation and dining choices. The rooms are typically small but attractive and there is an outdoor area for breakfast or a coffee.

A week in RomePosted Aug 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely Hotel in a great location. Quiet , leafy surroundings with lots of private Villas and appartments. One minute walk over to a great view of Rome as far as the Vittorio Emanuelle monument and along the Tiber. 5 minutes to the Circo Maximo on foot or down to the Tiber. Staff very helpful and courteous throughout. Rooms well maintained on a daily basis and excellent service at breakfast from Marguerita. Good choice of buffet continental breakfast. Pretty hotel , not too big ( about 22 rooms ) , all elegant with nice furnishings of drapes, large gilded mirrors etc. Well fitted ensuite with all the usual toiletries, bidet, hairdryer etc. Cool shaded patio/ garden to sit and and relax and/ or have your breakfast. Third visit over the last 15 years and same quality today as the first time in 1998. Buses and metro to most parts of the city within 5- 7 minutes walk.

Beautiful Oasis, but a bit off the beaten pathPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Aventino is a really nice, quaint hotel. It's in a very quiet part of Rome. Wealth neighborhood on top of one of the famous 7 hills of Rome. It's a bit of a hike (about 15 mins) to the nearest metro station. But after a day in the hustle and bustle of Rome tourism, it is a nice place to escape to. Of course, there's always a cab. It's definitely centrally located...just a bit hard to get to. Rooms are nicely sized. Ornate. Lobby smelled a bit weird.

Wonderful Hotel!Posted Jun 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had booked a three night stay in this hotel, it was a bit more than I would have normally paid but it was my wife's 50th so it had to be a bit special and it didn't disappoint. From the moment we arrived, service was excellent. A cold drink was given to us and then we were shown to our room which was beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished. The beds were comfy, the breakfast, continental and plentiful. The area is mostly residential so the restaurants were good but reasonably priced and the area quite but within easy reach via underground to all the attractions.

Quiet, comfortable and easy access.Posted Mar 11, 2013
Pros: Very accommodating, know electable and friendly staff.
My 13 year old son and I visited Rome and wanted a place with a bit of room space and easy walking distance to some of the areas we wanted to see. The Aventino Hotel fit the bill and is in a very quiet neighbourhood which overlooks Trastevere from the Aventine hill. Close to both Pyramide and Circo Massimo metro stops with easy access to Trastevere. 5 minute taxi from Ostiense train station. We walked everywhere and found we could get to the Vatican in 40 minutes, the Forum in 12 and Campo Di Fiori in 25-30, depending on our level of distraction. A very nice walk is along the river below street level. A beautiful park of orange trees was 2 minutes up the hill. A good continental breakfast of fresh baked goods, fruits, cheeses, sliced meat as well as cereal and yogurt set us up for each day (alomg with a couple cappuccinos). Very quiet location with little if any evening noise.
