Quiet place with nice breakfast on the balcony

Pros: Breadfast, cleanliness, charming hostess
Location: At hanf an hour walk from the Vatican
I would recommend this B&B if you want to live outside of the touristic area but with bars and restaurants at 15 minutes walk.

Friendly, clean, stylish in nice neighborhood

Bamboo is a very nice retreat amidst a very busy city. Situated in an upper-middle class neighborhood on the Gianicolo, it offers a view on how real Romans live. This is not a place where you'll be tripping over fellow tourists. It's especially convenient for those consulting the library at the American Academy or visiting students at the Centro or the American Univerisity in Rome. The hosts could not be nicer, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, stylish in an Ikea sort of way, and outfitted with superb air conditioners. Everything is very modern, and I can't think of a more abundant hotel breakfast in all my time in Italy. With a couple of tips for getting around (the Quattro Venti station is near, as are connections with the 44 and 75 buses), it makes a useful base for those who will spend their days out in the city.

We had a very comfortable stay.the hotel was extremely clean and the lady welcoming and helpful. We wish there was a facility available to make drinks. Breakfast very nice. No free parking though as advertised. ....limited on street parking.

Bamboo is a verry nice B&B and the owners Eduardo and Claudia are extremely nice and hospitable. The only reason to downgrade this B&B is it is not easy to find. The B&B is on the 5th floor of an apartment building and there is no sign on the building anywhere to let you know the B&B is in the building. Just be sure to get very clear directions via e-mail. When you step out of the elevator, turn left and Bamboo it the door facing you. There is a web-site for Bamboo, but it does not clearly explain how to locate the B&B. Once you do find it, you will be glad yo did.

Bamboo B&B

Posted Nov 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
Clean but spartan to the max. . Two beds were a comfy one and one that was little more than a fold out that defied comfort. When we got there had to wait some 40 minutes for someone to let us in while we stood with bags outside. NO closet, NO TV as noted in website, not convenient to anything, and definitely not near Travestere. Bathroom across the hall not in the room. Had to ask for towels daily or we received none. No hot water for two nights, Would absolutely not recommend this B&B despite the owners friendliness.
