“Great Hotel, Quirky Location”

This wonderful hotel is right on the beach in a neighborhood of endless apartment buildings of uneven quality and not much else. It didn't feel like a good place to be walking around at night. Fortunately, the restaurant in the hotel was excellent. If you need a place convenient to the airport, the location is fine. Hotel staff were attentive and very helpful.

What a find! This place is rand new, on the water and near a marina called "Port of Rome." You can take the hotel shuttle to the train station and use the train and bus for only one euro to get to the center of rome. The down sides are that part of the surrounding area is a little "depressed" but under rennovation. The rooftop cafe is not open in the off season. Breakfast is a little sparce.

“Nice hotel”

My husband and I had an ocean view room with a balcony. It was modern and comfortable, the air conditioner worked, the shower didn't leak and there was a working safe in the room(problems that we encountered in other Italian 4-star hotels). We spent two relaxing days at the beach in front of the Aran Blu Hotel. We encountered mostly Italians and it wasn't crowded at all. The economy really seems to affect tourism in Italy! The shuttle ride to the airport was short and comfortable. We can't comment on how easy/difficult it would be to visit Rome from this location - we stayed in Rome for a few days earlier on our trip to see the sights. One thing that troubled us however was how dirty the streets in the city of Ostia are; they rival the streets of Rome and Florence. Our stay at the Aran Blu was a pleasant ending to a three weed trip in Italy, we would stay there again.

“Number one choice in Rome area”

The front desk is always very helpful and friendly with directions, a great restaurant and places to see. The restaurant at the hotel is now open and the food, wine and service were very good. Breakfast, which is included is usual European fare, good. We love the contemporary design, art work and the beautiful rooms. The underground parking is great as the hotel is beach front and on nice days and weekends parking can be difficult.

“Good beach hotel close to airport”

The Aran Blu Hotel was a great location for going to Fumanciano airport and yet in a lovely beach community right on the Mediterranean Sea.

“Most enjoyable.”

The hotel is very clean and modern. The reception staff could have been more friendly but when asked questions they advised. The rest of the staff where lovely and the room was maintained to a high standard throughout our stay. Breakfast was great wide variety of choice at whatever time you got up, i went down specifically at 8.00am and 9.30am and each time the same wide variety of choice was out and to the same standard. The area is currently being redeveloped with the last part just underway which is directly outside the hotel, if you walk down the front (away from the harbour) for 1 minute you have a great beach with beach restaurants and snack bars, about 15mins down the front you arrive at a McDonalds! The Harbour Side was quiet with minimum restaurants and would advise only to use these if you have had a full day in Rome. We either stayed by the beach in the morning and had a light snack and then went into Rome for dinner or had a full day in Rome having a big dinner then snacking later on at the harbour side. After speaking with one of the locals because we were early season not all the bars, restaurants etc where open.

“Great for a short beach stay or overnighter near Fiumicino Airport”

This place is much nicer than most reviews posted. Very well kept, modern style, great oceanfront views, comfortable room & bed, great gated security parking in basement, flat screen TV on the wall. The marina across the street is lovely - filled with expensive pleasure yachts & several good restaurant choices in walking distance at the nearby Lido, (they don't open for dinner until 7:30 or 8). The beach directly across the street from hotel needs a little cleaning (normal seaweed/shell debris at tide line because of jetty), but just 30 ft. away the sand is spotless & black volcanic sand in places for miles. Far enough from airport so there's no noise yet only 15 min. drive to catch your flight. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if I had to be near the airport. Nearby ruins at Ostia Antica are fabulous, but bring water & snacks because it takes hours to see it all.

“A fantastic hotel”

This hotel is ideal if you would like to visit the Rome, while not staying in the city itself. It is about a 15 minute journey on the public bus to the metro station, which can be boarded from just behind the hotel. These buses go by almost every 10 minutes. It is then about a half hour journey from the metro station Ostia Centro into Rome, so is perfect for having a day in the city when you want. There is many things you can do around this hotel: there is a lovely harbour with lots of shops just down from it, Ostia Antica is just 2 stops away on the metro. The hotel itself is very modern and stylish. It is also kept constantly clean. The breakfast is buffet service, with a wide variety of cereals, fruits, rolls and pastries. I personally found that the hotel staff did everything they could to help us...all we had to do was ask. They were also extremely polite. Definitely somewhere I would return to!

“The Beach and Close to the Airport”

After two weeks of traveling throughout Italy, the Aran Blu turned out to be a great place to stay for the last night before I flew back to the States. Not only was it a short cab ride from the Airport, but it is located directly across from the beach and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The room had a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean where it was a pleasure to sit and watch the sunset. The staff speaks English and was very helpful. Best of all, the bathroom had a full-sized tub, which was truly welcome after a fortnight of tiny shower stalls. My only complaint, and that a very minor one, is that the room wasted space with a huge mirror and a big lighting fixture when the space would have been better used for storage space.
