Great hotel for a family or romantic escapePosted Feb 19, 2013
Myself my wife and our two boys 12 and 14 stayed here in the Michelangelo Suite for a long weekend. We had a wonderful double bedroom and the boys had to share a king size sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom is something out of a roman bath house. Real luxury. We were all provided with our own bath robes and slippers. You have your own balcony overlooking the Basillica of Santa Maria in Trastevere. The bells of which do ring every 15mins throughout the day and night. Though they did not disturb our sleep at all. Breakfast is in the cafe on the ground floor. The Michelangelo Suite is on the 3rd floor and is a bit of climb up steep steps. Best of all is the area of Trestevere it's vibrant, the square of Santa Maria has plenty of street entertainers and cafes, restaurants and shops. I would recommend Ristorante Bruno all Lungaretta for some real authentic Roman cuisine and the Ristorante Carlo Menta which seemed always full of locals. Good food, reasonably priced.
