It was a very convenient location and a nice little quaint room; I did not like the shared bathroom idea but it was not the least bit dirty and I actually didn't mind it in the end. The bathroom was a tad bit small but that's just european size. the only thing i disliked about the place was that it was very loud at night so if you are trying to get a good nights rest, this is not the place for you. Other than that it was a great stay for such an excellent price. Andrea, the host, was excellent, very welcoming, and extremely friendly.

Calisto 6 bed and breakfast
Posted Jan 14, 2012
Pros: Clean room
Cons: Noise from bar, smoke from smokers, bathroom
Room was not ready when I arrived (5pm), bar directly below that did not close until 3am, smoke from bar ingressed into the room. Bathroom was not on-suite and was tiny, hard even to shower. Would not go back.

Great location in Testervere for a budget B & B
Posted Jan 28, 2011
After the 1st nights confusion on which bathroom was ours to use, we had a wonderful stay. The B & B is just around the corner from a beautiful piazza with music and gathering in the evening. The breakfast was continental which was fine for me, but my husband was left wanting. The showers (openings) were small even for European B & B standards. Not for a plus sized person! Very clean Overall we enjoyed our 3 night stay very much and I loved the neighborhood!! I would stay there again!! .

WARNING, WARNING save money and a bad experience, on time !!
Posted Jan 19, 2011
Read carefully because these lines may save you money, time and a terrible experience in your trip to Rome. It seems to be a nice option for B&B unless, like happened to me, the manager decide (by himself) to relocate you at the last minute, so you have no choice or other place to go, even if he sent you an email the day before confirming the room. He may take you “just” 100 meters away; but that distance is enough to sleep under a bridge, a bench park or the street, too. In my case I was supposed to meet with my girlfriend there, but I couldn’t , so there she was using my reservation, but placed in a small two bedrooms apartment, sleeping in an adapted attic room, small enough to fit a full bed and having to use the bathroom downstairs. What I paid for was: Double bedroom, in-suite bathroom, breakfast and wi-fi. Talking about the “breakfast”, in case you are expecting a croissant or toasted bread, etc. NO! It is a cheap bag with some bread in it, but not even as “good” as an airplane meal. Luckily for us it was only a 2-day experience. It you are not a homeless traveling or backpacker with very low budget, DO NOT go to this hotel. Charming does not mean they are serious to honor your deal. Expedia, did a GREAT job, contacting the place and offering me a rearrangement. Anyone can survive the experience, but it is the principle of the agreement was broken and unilateral changes without your consent are the problem. Good Luck and have a nice trip.

misadvertised
Posted Jan 9, 2010
1. The hotel advertisers a room with "private bathroom". However, the "private bathroom" is across the hall. I wouldn't call this private, even if other rooms don't use the same bathroom. 2. There was no one at the hotel at night, and the wireless was not working. 3. The "breakfast" was basically a cup of coffee at the bar downstairs (we could also choose from a few not-fresh-looking unappetizing pastries). 4. The location is good (a very happening neighborhood), though pretty noisy (which I didn't mind). You have to keep the windows closed to be able to sleep at night. 5. The shower was so low you have to bend to get under it! 6. Check out time is 10:30 (which is pretty early), but the lady knocked on the door and woke us up to tell us that she needs the room around 10am. Overall: It would've been an ok hotel if they hadn't mis-advertised their rooms (esp the private bathroom thing). Wouldn't stay there next time.

Nice but noisy
Posted Jan 17, 2010
We enjoyed staying here, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is nice and central, so we could walk to many of Rome's attractions. On the downside breakfast was not really what we were expecting, just a coffee and pastry in a grotty cafe under the hotel. The same cafe/bar that was extremely busy and noisy at night. It was winter so we had the window and shutters closed but still needed to wear earplugs to get to sleep. I would imagine it would be difficult in the summer with the roar of noise if you had to open the window. I felt that the hotel was a little over-priced considering all this and that the bathroom was absolutely tiny. But we did enjoy our stay all the same.
