Front Desk IndifferencePosted Oct 31, 2013
Pros: Beautiful bathrooms.
Cons: Front desk staff, plumbing, Wi-Fi in rooms.
The front desk staff was arrogant, rude and unbelievably inattentive. They were not helpful with anything from luggage, Wi-Fi, or restaurant recommendations. Only when you waved around a 5 - 10 Euro note were you able to catch their eye. While the rooms and bathrooms were nice, the plumbing needs some help. The taps continuously switch from hot to cold so it is difficult to take a shower with a constant temperature. They do advertise Wi-Fi however it is only in the hotel lobby and is VERY frustrating to connect to. (You can have a router installed in your room for an additional daily rental charge.) This hotel is not deserving of a 5 star rating.

The hotel is steps from Via Veneto and the Metro station is across the street. It´s walking distance from Fontana di Trevi, Via del Corso and basically most of the main attractions. Another plus is that the different Hop on hop off buses stop besides the hotel so it´s very convenient. The room was not large but was Ok. The hotel has a restaurant on the top floor with a terrace and a great view of the city.

SO VERY DISAPPOINTED.Posted Oct 17, 2013
Cons: ALL OF THE ABOVE COMMENTS
Location: THEY HAVE THAT GOING FOR THEM. IT IS A GOOD LOCATION.
I TRAVEL A LOT, FOR BUSINESS, & TRY TO SQUEEZE AS MUCH VACATION IN AS POSSIBLE. I'M A FIRM BELIEVER IN..."YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"...SO... FOR THE MONEY, THE BERNINI HOTEL WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. VISUALLY, IT WAS DARK, DINGY, & IN BAD NEED OF A MAKEOVER, AND THAT WAS JUST THE LOBBY!! THE GUEST ROOMS WERE NOT USER FRIENDLY, AND BASICALLY A DISASTER. I WAS TOLD BY THE FRONT DESK, THAT THEY WERE RECENTLY RENOVATED...I'M STILL WONDERING WHERE?? THE STAFF WAS UNCONCERNED, INCONSISTANT AND REALLY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE GUESTS. I WOULD DEFINATELY NOT RECOMMEND TO A BUSINESS TRAVELER.

Fantastic location to see all the sites of RomePosted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: The central location, the room and the breakfast were all very good
Cons: We ordered a decaffinated coffee in the upstairs restaurant which came as a sachet with some hot water- a bit poor for a five star hotel!
Location: The location was perfect. We walked to all the major tourist attractions and it was great!
We had a lovely 3 nights away. The room was very clean and a good size.

Pros: Location is fantastic! We didn't need any of the services in the hotel, as there were fantastic restaurants & shops nearby.
Cons: Overhaul the staff, especially in the restaurant & bar!
Location: Easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps & the Trevi Fountain. We went to the Trevi area several nights for food & shopping....it was wonderful!!!
This hotel is in the perfect location, and is clean and decorated very nicely. The rooms were also huge by European standards! The bed & pillows were pretty hard for me, but my boyfriend slept just fine. Could just be a personal preference? My only complaint was with the service. The staff at the front desk seemed annoyed any time we had a question, and this includes the concierge. Isn't that why they're there? Also, my boyfriend attempted to get coffee from the restaurant on the first morning, and had the rudest experience with the servers. After going downstairs to ask the front desk, he was told to just go down the street for coffee. What? Becuase of this, we never went to the restaurant or bar that they tote on their webite as being so amazing. I had actually read that others had the same experience with the service in this hotel, and just assumed they were being impatient/rude with the staff - well, we were sure to be super friendly & nice to these people, and still, not a great experience...

Close hotel to walk to most attractionsPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Upgraded our room when a/c not working in our room.
Cons: The wait staff at the restaurant in the top level. They had an arrogance to them. Not very friendly.
Location: Close to Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. We took a taxi to Vatican and Coliseum. Coliseum is walkable so we taxi'd there and walked back.
Our first room we stayed in was too hot, even after a/c had been running all day. They did bump us up to a junior suite room that was very nice to accommodate us. Many rooms have been renovated and we stayed in those unrenovated rooms. The renovated rooms were nice with hardword floors so not sure how quickly they will get all completed. Breakfast was average. The eggs on first day was too runny for us but by second and third day, they were cooked more. They did have meat as a selection (bacon, sausage). Showers were tiny, even in the junior suite room. Very narrow.

The location is convenient, the doorman was very helpful and knowledgeable. Housekeeping was not up to standard, room had dirty glasses and former room occupants clothing down side of the bed. Hotel did acknowledge and provided complimentary wine which was appreciated, but the sloppy housekeeping issue was never addressed. Would we return...No.
