Convenient location and good service.Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The location was within walking distance of the Termini metro and train station. It was clean and services were good.
Cons: I think that some additional external security (i.e. police) for streets nearby. Though we had no problems with locals, walking at night was a concern
Location: The location was within walking distance of the Termini metro and train station. There were a few ethnic restaurants and stores close by.
Initially, we received some bad directions at the train station to find out that there were two Best Western hotels on the same street. After confirmation and better directions at the Best Western Universal, we walked a couple more blocks to the right hotel. Check-in was painless and we received WIFI instructions without even asking. Other requests included directions to the nearby ATM, restaurants and grocery stores. The end of the trip involved arrangements for a van for our 5 person group to the airport for pricing similar to the express train. We also received a simple continental breakfast for our early departure since we would miss the full breakfast over an hour later. One thing to always be aware of, especially in the metro, is that there are thieves as young as 11 or 12. The locals on the train warned us of 4 operating on our train to keep aware. They were very aggressive, but we escaped any problems. Never get on a full train last and always keep your group together to maintain maximum awareness.

Pathetic LocationPosted Feb 26, 2014
Cons: Please remove 4 start rating for this hotel
Location: City Tour
Online booking is gamble, this hotel was really not up to the mark. This area was surrounded by Bangladeshi community and I do not recommend this to any one. It is not safe to walk after dark. The room which was allocated to us was very, very small, There was no enough ventilation and due to which we didn't get proper sleep. No AC. View from hotel was 'nothing' . So in short, it was really worst start for our holiday, I fell sick and need to take rest in another hotel to recover.

hotel close to train stationPosted Feb 18, 2014
Staff very courteous and helpful. Excellent Italian food in the hotel's restaurant, half price welcome drink in the bar - very welcome! Good location, just a short walk to the termini station.

Don't book an economy roomPosted Dec 23, 2013
Pros: The location was in a poorer district but really easy to walk to the main sights.
The first night in an economy room was unbearable - very hot, stuffy and no opening window; less than standard sized double bed; 5 hangers between 2 people for 5 days; etc We upgraded to a standard room the next morning but still didn't qualify for the 'free' breakfast. But the new room was OK, nothing special but nothing lacking.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Nowhere near 4 star hotel unpleasant staff, worst part of Rome. And even though I paid for all taxes on line, I was asked to pay a some for staying in Rome as tax.!! I insisted on not paying than the staff got rather aggressive.

Overall great experiencePosted Dec 8, 2013
I had a great time at this hotel even though most of the day I was out. I Didn't appreciate the Night auditor because he was oblivious to the fact that there are AC ( air conditioning) in the room. He manually had to start it from downstairs. After a few minutes of trying to make him understand that I'm not stupid.. He turned it on. Ridiculous when you are paying for a room and any guest should be able to leave it on all the time if he/she chooses to.. I must recognize hospitality from Francesco, and Armando for good service and the friendly upgrade after the inconvenience I incurred.
