“Best value for Rome”
The room was very nice for it's cost. The bed was actually a queen size bed (rather than two doubles together) at least for the room we got. Staff were nice. The neighborhood had good local stores to buy water, fresh fruit & cheese. No rip off like the city center.
“Good but a bit far”
Everything is great about the hotel for the price you pay. Only trouble we had was finding it on the first day, we got pretty lost. If you don't plan on taking the taxi, make SURE you either call the hotel to ask for specific directions, or speak Italian well enough to get through to the RUDE bus drivers of Rome (WHAT a difference compared to northern europe). It's convenient enough once you know your way. But do take it into account that it's aout 30-40 minutes away from center.
“Great price for Rome!”
A little outside of the center of Rome but easily accessible with the amazing transportation system (bus, subways) in the city. Clean rooms with balcony. There was a safe, free WiFi, mini bar, hairdryer, great A/C in the room. The breakfast buffet was a typical continental breakfast. The restaurant attached to the hotel wasn't that great. Would suggest the piizeria around the corner if you were desperate. There's a mall nearby with a grocery store, pharmacy, etc. Only complaints would be the thin walls which would have been more bothersome had there been more guests, as well as noisy streets (try to get a room facing the back) Staff was very helpful while helping us make reservations or suggestions for visiting the city. Takes 20-30 mins to take bus/subway to Colosseo stop. Very inexpensive for day passes.
“Weird Location, great price”
The location was outside of the city (we walked to the bus which took us to the metro) but the hotel was clean.
“Pretty Good”
Best Western Blu Hotel Roma is a nice hotel. Initially we had a little bit of trouble locating the hotel as it is not exactly at the center of the city. However once we reached the hotel it was fine. The hotel staff were very warm and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
“best hotel”
This hotel in ok
“Excelent”
A very nice hotel and a pleasant personal.
“Off the beaten path”
While the hotel itself was very nice, clean, and staff was pleasant, it is definitely off the beaten path. Comfort of the room, well let's just say the beds are hard! (if you like a hard bed, then this room is for you). The staff was more than eager to assist you with directions, dinner reservations and tours. The subway is a bit of a walk, about a mile maybe a little more. On the way back from the city there is a great place to eat just after you cross the bridge from the train station(I just wish I could remember the name), they have indoor and outdoor dining and the food and staff are wonderful and English speaking. If you arrive in Rome via the train, be sure to bargain with the taxi drivers prior to getting in, our 3-5 mile trip cost us 40 euro. Word to the wise! You will be put off by the surroundings at first...there is graffiti everywhere, but at no time did our group of four ever feel uncomfortable nor were we ever approached by any unsavory characters. Definitely take the subway into Rome, they have stops at every major spot.
“Outside tourist area treat for Americans!”
The Hotel Blu catered to an american exceptionally well considering the low cost of the room for a week. The staff is very helpful, the hotel is near local shopping which made replacing my lost luggage a breeze and the bathrooms are breathtaking.
“A solid choice”
Blu Hotel Roma was nothing really special, but it was a good, moderately priced hotel with courteous staff. Rooms were clean, and typically small but comfortable (by European standards). The location is not the most convenient (hence the moderate price), but the staff can help you learn your way around.
