Two-Edged SwordPosted Oct 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Despite no personal recommendations, the hotel proved well situated for a quick one day visit to Rome. On the other hand, there were others to choose from. While there was a touch of elegance in the lobby decor, the rooms were heavily worn and need the door and window frames and bathroom tiles replaced. All wood looked wornout and painted over about a dozen times. Front desk seemed a little snooty, and ripped us off on departure. As much as I travel, I should have been watching, but they slipped in a foreign currency translation and billed me in dollars, which cost me an additional 7% on the two room nights. Do the math. I use a credit card that does not charge the customary 3% international FX charge, so I didn't think about it. I've always had hotels ask, when that option was available. When I looked at the receipt after signing and giving me the receipt, they refused to credit the charge back and charge me in Euros. Will not return with such dishonesty.

Great hotel!!!Posted Oct 8, 2013
Clean, central and big rooms in comparison to other hotels. 10-15 min walk to Trevi and hop on hop off bus stop only 2 min away!

Business tripPosted Oct 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is ideal for a business trip. I stayed in a single room and it was large and comfortable. However, there was a serious problem with the internet. I specifically booked this hotel since it was close to Termini station but also because it had complementary wireless access (needed continuous access for work during evenings), however, the internet never worked.

Disappointing . No GoPosted Oct 1, 2013
Other then the location ( walking distance to the Central Termini ) , there is nothing good to say about that hotel . It is old and run down , on a very busy noisy street . Very simple and basic that looks and feels more like a Holiday Inn than a 4 star hotel .

Atlantico Hotel in Rome _ Great LocationPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Hotel location, large comfortable room and comfortable bed - and functioning air conditioning which was very welcome in in August in Rome.
Cons: It would be nice if there was a computer to check email and print boarding passes. Also, the woman who works at the front desk needs to smile.
Location: Santa Maria Maggiore is just a block away and the Rome museum is two blocks away in the other direction. Sightseeing hop-on hop-off buses pick up.
The Atlantico is just one block from the Termini Station in Rome, so it is easy to roll your suitcase over if you are taking the train or bus from the airport. The Atlantico is a graciously old-fashioned hotel, with large rooms, spacious bathrooms, and a brass birdcage type elevator. The Atlantico is walking distance to most of the sights visitors want to see and is close to the metro and local buses, so the location is excellent. The Atlantico is physically joined with its next-door sister hotel, the Mediterreaneo, where a full buffet breakfast, included in the room rate, is available. The Mediterreaneo also has a roof-top restaurant on the 10th floor with a great view over Rome and very good food. We spent a lovely evening at the roof-top restaurant, watching the sun go down over St. Peter's dome and the lights to Rome coming on.
