“Bad-let me count the ways...”
Physical impressions on first entering are fine, until you have to talk to any staff. They were indifferent and seemed to barely tolerate us. We were given a TINY room, dark - the exterior shutters were closed because the room faced an ugly alley and building 20 feet away. It was extremely noisy from the hallway people walking by and doors closing late into the night. At breakfast, coming with 30 minutes of closing, selections were limited - items not replenished. The wait staff completely ignored us, not even a good morning. Wifi - had to get new logon info each day - annoying. Bathroom so tiny, had to move sideways to get to toilet. Open electrical socket/box on wall. On complaining about room, we were grudgingly shown another room - same size, better view but only a small shower no tub, so we stayed where we were. Incidentlly, the tub was about 3/4 size - sit up tub, coulldn't really relax. Seems lots of tours stay here so an independent traveler is just lost in the shuffle - we are scrapping this reservation with 3 days to go, to move to our favorite Roma hotel - Hotel Canada. Helpful and pleasant staff makes all the difference to me and Nuovo Nord doesn't have even one we have seen in 2 days.
“Would never recommend this hotel!”
The room was located outside an alley way and all we heard all night was dump trucks emptying the trash bins and delivery trucks. Very noisy and could not sleep at all!
“Your lower than average hotel”
We chose this hotel for our last 2 days stay in Rome. The price and proximity to Termini station was the reason for choosing Hotel Nord Nuova. Please note that the Termini area is kind of a "rougher" neighbourhood. The hotel is your average, older hotel that still uses metal keys for the room and when leaving the hotel, you store your keys at front desk. Speaking of storing keys, I was quite shocked that I could just walk in, say my room number and front desk would not even ask my i.d before giving me the room keys - not very secure. Room was old but clean, the bathroom was extremely small! Wifi was not very reliable as you get a "wifi" scratch card, much like a phone card and signal was very bad in the rooms. Breakfast was very average compared to other hotels in Rome. All in all, if you're looking for a cheap hotel close to Termini station (literally just across the street) just for a place to sleep after a full day of sightseeing - then this is your hotel.
“Hotel”
An awesome stay. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Great rooms and very clean.
“Good european Hotel in convenient location”
The Bettoja Hotel Nord Nuova Roma was a very pleasant small hotel. The included breakfast was really nice and the hotel was conveniently located to various types of transportation. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend the hotel.
“Good hotel, close to transportation and sites in Rome”
We stayed at this hotel prior to our cruise vacation. It's located just a few blocks from the train station and Metro station which made it very convenient! Easy train ride from airport to the train station! If you like to walk and explore, this hotel is easily walkable to many of the major sites. if you prefer to take the Metro (only 1 euro each way), it's also convenient to the train. The hotel itself was nice. Air conditioning was nice and cool. Room had a balcony facing an alley which was an added bonus. Large rooms for European standards. The hotels located in and around this one are nice and plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. We stayed one night at another hotel down the street (same side of train station) it was rated 3 stars. and just as nice. We would definitely stay in this area of Rome again.
“Nice hotel”
We were pleased with the room, the shower and the breakfasts. We were disappointed in the internet. Their ad said it had wi-fi but during our first two nights it was not working at all. Later there was working internet in the lobby for a fee. On a second stay there was wi-fi but there was a fee for it. The hotel itself was very pretty, was a wonderful location and we would go back.
“Good choice.”
Excellent location near main train station--really convenient l as the train from da Vinci/FCO airport ends there-- helpful and courteous staff, great beakfast, comfortable, clean room, no complaints--wuuld stay there again.
“Absolutely great!”
If your stayed here 2 or more years ago, you need to give them another chance. The day manager told us that they refurbished everything back then. Our room was great, the service excellent, and the staff very friendly. Good breakfast too. You can't get a better location. The train station is about 1 1/2 blocks away, one of the tour buses stops 50 yards down the street. We would absolutely stay here again if we go to Rome or just need a layover.
“Not Impressed”
The hotel is in a great location. Most of the staff is friendly, some don't even greet you when you say hello. The room I was given was on the first floor, and had a small bathroom. After the 3rd night, the A/C stopped working in my room. It started at 9:00pm, and I decided to tell the front desk at 10:00pm. They told me a technician was coming and to wait until 11:30. We waited (hubby and I) until 12:00am, and the room was still dreadfully hot. We could not sleep, and the room was getting worse as time past. The manager told us to wait until the floor cools off. At 1:00am, we were told to wait another hour. Finally, at 2:30am, the bellman checked out the room (after we begged) and we were FINALLY (after 5 HRS!!) given another room on the 5th floor. The room we were given was a lot bigger, and nicer. It had a bath tub in it (unlike just a shower like in our other room) and the bathroom was in a more convenient location. Had I originally recieved that room, or had my room changed once I complained about the A/C, I would have recommended and enjoyed my stay. Living in the US, I am not used to fighting and proving that I am dying of heat when the A/C breaks in my room.
