Great hotel but extras much too pricey

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: See above.
Location: See above.
Just returned from a week long stay at this hotel in Rome. Fantastic location right next to Republicca Metro stop on Line A and a 5 min walk from Termini station. Also about 10 minutes to walk to the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. The hotel and its facilities were exceptional - very, very clean, super helpful staff and the rooms were really comfortable. My biggest gripe is the exorbitant price of food and drinks at this hotel. Breakfast was really pricey. I have stayed at truly outstanding hotels all over Europe and none have charged this much for a buffet breakfast. The roof top pool is also quite shallow although pleasant and with comfortable chairs etc. surrounding it. Drinks bought at the poolside were also really expensive, typically double what you would pay at even the more pricey restaurants nearby. This meant that the bill for extras when we checked out was huge, especially once the daily occupancy tax is added. I would suggest not getting too many drinks or other extras from the hotel itself. There are many places nearby to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner and all at varying budgets. But for the cost of extras, I would have rated this hotel as a 5 overall. It is rated as a 4 simply because of the exorbitant cost of extras.

5 Days in Rome

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: The cocktail bar by the pool at night The restaurant The power shower!
Cons: In common with many hotels, the power shower produces water far quicker than the drainage can cope and the result is a flooded floor.
Location: Excellent location to explore the entire ancient city centre on foot.
Chose this hotel for its rooftop pool in the ancient city centre location. Received a room upgrade on registration which is, of course, always a pleasant bonus and excellent start to your stay! All in all a very relaxing, friendly, luxury hotel.

Rome

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Convenient. Nice room. Secure.
Location: Convenient for all major sites (the Vatican was the furthest away). Close to the hotel some great places to eat.
Stayed at this hotel for its convenient location for sites we wanted to visit. We did not have much interaction with the hotel team, but when we did it was polite and pleasant. Overall a good experience and we would stay there again.

Perfect location for sight-seeing in Rome

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Extremely clean and comforting. You cannot help but fall in love with the classic/modern styling of this luxurious hotel
Cons: Swimming pool opening times were a bit restricted, from 10am-6pm. I would have liked an early morning or late night schedule, if only on certain days
Location: Great central location. Probably the best area for great tasting, reasonably priced food. 5 minute walk to Termini, 15 minute walk to Colosseum
Despite having to wait an extra hour for our room upon arrival, every other aspect of our stay was extremely satisfying. To describe the hotel in 3 words: grand, luxurious, and comforting. Boscolo certainly go the extra mile to please their customers. No detail is overlooked. The d├ęcor is stunning. Staff are warm and friendly, and willing to offer advice for first time visitors. They also provided us with a travel adaptor free of charge, as we forgot to pack one! Our room was beautiful, easily confirming the hotel's 5 star status. I would not hesitate to book here again.

peaceful hotel in busy city

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Loved the furnishings and rooms, the lounge area was very nice, and the pool area was very relaxing
Cons: The restaurant on the ground floor didn't really provide light meals and snacks in the evening, especially for young people
Location: It was a good walk to the sights. The concierge recommended some good restaurants nearby
We enjoyed our stay at the Boscolo Exedra very much. It was a peaceful oasis in a busy city. The facilities were good, although I would say that this is quite a corporate hotel, which is a consideration if you are taking children. The hotel is not far from all of the sights and it was lovely to relax with a drink near the pool at the end of the day.

Perfect location to visit Rome from.

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness and the general experience.
Cons: The steps from the streets smell of urine and don't seem to be cleaned.
Location: Everything is with walking distance other than the Vatican, even than can be a long but pleasant walk if you are up for the challenge.
Very nice hotel, rooms are very varied in not only size, but layout. Metro on the door step, gets you to the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain and the Vatican with ease. Within walking distance to the colosseum area and also the other main tourist areas. The roof top bar is very expensive, even if you are used to five star city breaks, however, it is well worth it for the view over Rome in the evening. The pool is, well it's not a pool, more of a paddle area on the roof. All in all it's is a great hotel, I will return and from this experience I will also consider other hotels in this chain. One thing to note, just to the right of the hotel is Termini station, I travel regularly and am used to City railway stations, I am of large build and not intimidated easily, but I would be very cautious around that area as there are some very undesirable faces there.
