Perfect hotel for a summer stay in Rome.Posted Jun 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was one of the few in Rome with a pool which is a great feature if visiting Rome in hot weather. They even had cocktail service out to the pool which was an added bonus. The air conditioning in the room was really good as well, which can be a luxury in Italy. The beds were comfortable, room was spotless and the staff were all very helpful and spoke English. The only downside was the location. We had to take Taxis everywhere, which wasn't a problem since they arrived within minutes of the staff calling them but that expense can add up quickly. All the cab rides into the city ran approx. 15 - 18 Euros and approx. 10 Euros to the Vatican. Rome is extremely hot though so I highly recommend budgeting for the Taxi expenses and staying at this hotel. It was so nice to come back from the city in the afternoon and relaxing in the pool. Wifi and breakfast were good as well.

Cardinal Hotel St Peter is a KeeperPosted Jun 9, 2013
Pros: Accommodating Staff, Cleanliness, and a Sense of Safety, a beautiful pool, & wonderful views from the hot tub..
Cons: It would be nice if there were on site laundry or a facility near by. Also, I would love a small exercise room.
Location: The hotel boasts a lovely location, in a safe and delightful neighborhood. The Vatican area is one not to miss.
The desk manager is welcoming. I was shown to my room readily, the room being and well laid out. For a woman travelling alone, I heartily recommend this hotel. The lobby and all common areas are comfortable, clean, and above all present as safe. The room service manager also keeps in mind the comfort of her guests. She brought me flowers after my first day. The neighborhood of the hotel is quite appealing as well. I book a second stay at the Cardinal Hotel St Peter, and toward the end of the stay, my mother will be joining me. I only recommend hotels of high caliber (either a well deserving 3* or higher) as a place for my mother, a retired educator, to enjoy. I am very much looking forward to our joint stay at the 4* rated Hotel Cardinal St Peter.

Room was very warm when we arrived but just had to ask front desk to turn on air. That didn't seem to be working too well. Opened the door to the balcony. Was slightly concerned that the balconies connected to each other. It seemed it would be very easy for someone to come into your room from their balcony. Poor design.Comfortable enough. Could have used a couple of extra pillows. Nice sized bathroom and shower. Liked having a balcony overlooking St. Peter. Breakfast was typical for all the Italian hotels we stayed in. I'm sorry I forgot the ladie's name that helped us check in- she was very pleasant and bright.

About 1.5 miles to Vatican, 25 minute walk.Posted May 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Good place, stayed here three times over last three years. Paid half of what I paid last year before booking on hotels.com. Clean modern hotel. Good brekfast included. Beds are hard, typical for Italy. Air conditioning in the rooms is very weak, couldnt seem to cool off the room, even at night.

We were very impressed with the rooms because they were exactly as shown on their website. The hotel and room was very clean, staff friendly, and in a very good location. We took the bus (bus stop approximately 1/4 mile away) to the Vatican which was very convenient. If you want a formal lunch or dinner, there is a very nice restaurant in another hotel about 1 block away(please make reservations). The hotel has a continental breakfast but very minimal selection for dinner. I loved the outside pool, but unfortunately it was raining and a bit cool. The rate per night for this hotel was excellent. I would highly recommend it.

Close as one short ride to the Vatican.Posted Oct 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
Fantastic and enjoyable stay; bus stops are just short walks away with a friendly grocery store nearby, pizza shop, McDonald's and a convenient store along the main street.
