“Our Stay at Casa del Sole”

We stayed in Casa del Sole a few nights during our time in Italy, and before and after our trip to Sicily. It is very close to Rome's airport, only a five minute taxi ride away. The rooms are all very clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The owners are very nice and extremely helpful especially after our flight back to Rome from Palermo was delayed and we arrived very late. Overall Casa del Sole is a great place to stay near Fiumicino airport.

“happy with this hotel”

This is a new hotel in a residential neighborhood near Rome International airport, so it's very convenient if you are not planning to go into Rome, but just plan to use the airport. I came in by train from Florence to the airport, and just needed a place to stay until my flight out to Los Angeles the next day. Taxi from the airport to the hotel costs 15 Euros in 2011, but beware, some drivers may try to get more out of you. The hotel was super clean, and my room had a nice balcony. The housekeeper was a woman from Eritrea who spoke good English and was very friendly and helpful. The woman owner does not speak English, but was friendly. I recommend this hotel.

“Our stay at Casa del Sole”

We were surprised that it was more a bed and breakfast than a hotel. It also was in a residential area and not close to any shopping. The breakfast was maybe more italian than what we are used in the US. There was only wrapped sweet rolls and orange drinks,not juice and of course coffee. Only one person spoke english and she left around noon. So if you didn't get any information before noon you had to wait as no one else spoke english. They were very helpful, though, in taking us to the trainstation for 10 euros. The place was charming but more out of the way than we had anticipated.

no elevator and we had to walk up with much luggage. other than that, it was well-maintained, had free wi-fi, free parking.

“Clean, but not convenient to much”

It was clean and convenient to the airport (only 5 mins.), but not to anything else. Although the actual room was nice, the neighborhood seemed to be in the middle of no where. Our original train there was cancelled, so we were lectured (in broken english/Italian) about keeping them past the check in time. Too far from the train station and they gave us the wrong password to the internet, so we couldn't get times for flights, local attractions, shuttles, or anything else. Also, they had to find someone to translate, because no one spoke English. The actual place was clean, hot water, and a full kitchen.
