Great B&B in a brilliant locationPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Location, room, cleanliness, hostess
Cons: Be aware this a B&B, not a hotel and you won't be disappointed.
Location: Bang in the heart of the city.
Lovely B&B run by Daniela who was incredibly helpful and attentive. The room was clean, spacious and opened out onto a typical Roman street of restaurants and shops. All attractions were in walking distance and you felt you were in the middle of the teaming city as soon as you stepped outside the door. Would happily recommend to anyone wanting a city break in this fantastic city.

Disappointing accommodationPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Location - easy to walk to Rome's tourist attractions
Cons: An honest explanation when booking that alternative accommodation may be provided. However this needs to be improved to meet a basic standard.
Location: Next to the Pantheon and within walking distance to all Rome's main tourist attractions
We were taken to the annexe and was told the benefit was a private bathroom for the same price. City House seemed to be fully booked, the annexe was additional accommodation with the same owner as City House. The room was dark even with the main light on and also the bedside lights provided little additional light after we managed to connect them. There was 1 small window in the room. It was explained that we had all that was needed for the 3 night stay. The shower had no rose and the floor round the shower tray looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years, the bedside table had cupboards without handles. Although the room was not serviced during our stay a note was left in the room mentioning that the air conditioning had been left on when we were out of the room and that it was not necessary to air condition Rome! The air conditioning was poor and seemed difficult to regulate, no instructions were provided. Fortunately we spent little time in the room.

Nice location for the pricePosted Sep 24, 2013
Cons: More hot water
The view and energy from our window was well worth it. It's not a luxury hotel by any means, so if you are looking for high class this is not the hotel for you. The location is perfect and if you don't mind doing with out a few things you should stay here. Daniella was very sweet and accommodating although her husband was a little more uptight. We would come back for sure.

Review of City HousePosted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: Clean, tidy, secure, central location, friendly owner.
Cons: Although breakfast was ample it was basic.
Location: Central location, walking distance (although a good to walk to most!) of major sights, Vatican, Colleseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon
We arranged for an airport transfer through the hotel from the airport at an additional cost of 50 euros, and having worked out the cost of the public transport and considering we were arriving late at night decided it was just about worth it and we were taken right to the front door. The hotel is in a fantastic location, literally less than minute we were stood in front of the Pantheon! Lots of places to eat in and arround the hotel and we used this place as base and were able to venture out each day and walk to all the major sights, Colleseum, Vatican, Villa Medici & Grand Termini being the extent of travels in roughly each direction. It's relatively small, three/four rooms and having booked one of these rooms with a shared bathroom, the land lady was lovely and we were delighted to find that on arrival we were upgraded to our own private bathroom at no extra charge! The room itself was a double bed, with TV, air con, wardrobe, dressing table and the bathroom, had a shower, sink and toilet (although bath was available in the shared bathroom). Immaculately clean and tidy and towels were changed after 3 days. Highly secure location with both a lock on the room and also a locked front door which is shared only with those in the hotel. Breakfast was basic but ample and available anytime after 8am. Overall very happy and if I returned to Rome, I would check to see if this place was available again.

nice hotel for short stayPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: staff and location
Cons: signboard of the hotel
Location: just two minutes away from Pantheon. close toTrevi fountain, Colosseum,Piazza Navona, even cab walk to Vatican if you don't mind walking a little more
good hotel, friendly staff, close to most places of interest but needs a bigger sign of name of the hotel since it's so easy to miss it.

In the centre of thingsPosted Sep 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
we had a great stay in Rome at the City House, friendly, location great within a couple of minutes of the Pantheon. Room good size, clean with aircon. We would stay there again.

Location and comfort excellentPosted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: The location was the absolute highlight of City House.
Cons: The shared bathroom has a shower head in the bath, but no shower curtain. A curtain would have made showering much easier and less stressful.
Location: Right next door to City House is a beautiful church, not highlighted as a tourist venue, but well worth popping into during your stay.
The location is fantastic, straight out of the door into a busy little square, 2 minutes' stroll to the Pantheon and Piazza della Rotunda, 5 minutes' to Piazza Navona, within easy walking distance from Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum, and a short bus journey or longer walk to Vatican City. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Our triple room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was efficient (and absolutely necessary in the nearly 40 degree heat during our stay). We had requested 3 single beds but this request was not passed on and the beds were made up as a double and a single on arrival, but Danielle quickly changed the bedding to give us three singles. We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom, but it was shared with only one other room, and we never had a problem accessing the bathroom when we needed to. The children made good use of the free Wi-Fi and the signal strength was OK most of the time. Breakfast is served on a tray in the room and is basic but adequate, although it was the same every day. Danielle is a first class host, making sure that guests are comfortable and have everything they need.

Great hospitalityPosted Jul 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Daniella is a great hostess and this place is in such a great setting that it's hard to fault. We were in a room for 3 which was small - no extra space - but the beds were comfortable and the main thing we did in the room was sleep, so who needs floor space!? The room for 5 at the back at the house is much more spacious and Daniella would have put us there if she hadn't been so busy (it was July). Because we were at the front of the house there was street noise - but not traffic, because it's pedestrianised - the clatter of cutlery, a piano accordion, voices speaking different languages - and actually the hum of the air conditioning (essential when we were there) drowned most of it out! We loved it all and will go again if we get the chance.

Not a good place to stayPosted Jul 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is not a good place to stay do to the following facts: 1. Beds are hard 2. Pillows are hard and smell like a mixture of old sweat and spit 3. It is noisy--water rushing down, clear steps, moving of tables and dishes (all of wich takes place after 10pm and after 8am) 4. Black spots between bathroom tiles--looks like mold 5. Rust around bathroom door 6. Black stain on ceiling above entrance door in the bathroom. 7. No shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. 8. In their "best room" there was only a very small window--about 2 feet by 3 feet. 9. Not all the lights work in the room 10. Two rooms share 1 bathroom 11. A long steep and narrow stair case has to be claimed to get to the miniature "lobby" 12. Directions on the phone are not clear. 13. The half owner was unprofessional and out of line 14. If you travel by car, this place does not validate the entrance to the city center like real hotels do, so you would have to park very far away and drag your bags all the way. 15. This is not a hotel, it is a bed and breakfast. 16. You are asked to pay cash

More than a hotel, this is an apartment.Posted Jul 22, 2013
Cons: There is no wifi available.
Location: It is just 50 meters from Pantheon. Very well located. I never used buses or transportation.
I understood after I arrived this is a B&B apartment, and not a hotel room. The room was clean, great location! walking distance to every tourist attractions. Tiny TV, only in italian and no wifi. For me and my kids was great for walking the city, many restaurants are close, and Golliti (best ice cream) just 2 blocks away. It is a low cost and basic room, nothing fancy, but clean.
