Beautiful settingPosted Oct 19, 2013
Cons: Reception staff could use some lessons in common courtesy and friendliness.
The Crowne Plaza Rome - St. Peter's is totally beautiful inside and out. The grounds include several lovely sittings areas as well as a pool, and the suite we were in lacked nothing in amenties. The buffet breakfast was excellent and appreciated. However, the Reception staff were not friendly and pleasant - no smiles ever.

Great hotel - little expensivePosted Sep 13, 2013
We had a wonderful four nights in Rome at the Crown Plaza. It's a fabulous hotel, very family and couple-friendly, and at the price we paid through Expedia, a real bargain. The outdoor pool area was perfect in 30+ degree heat, even if the pool could perhaps do with being heated - did take your breath away when you first got in! The location is a way out of the centre, but it was quite nice to get out of the bustle in the afternoon and at night, and the shuttle buses and the public transport links were all very good. There's also a good supermarket about ten minutes walk away, which is perfect for picking up little bits for breakfasts and picnics. A taxi back from Trastevere one night cost us 10 euros, so all in all its a very reasonable distance. Our only issue, to be expected I suppose in a good hotel in a city as expensive as Rome, was the cost of drinks and food in the hotel bars. At 8 euros for less than a pint of beer, and 6 for a juice or can of pop, even just a nightly nightcap actually added up to a slightly eye-watering bill at the end of our stay. Still thoroughly enjoyed it however, and are already considering booking again for next year.

Respite and Luxury in RomaPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Everything! Fabulous, friendly staff! Spa, food, comfortable beds and comforters, pool, etc...
Cons: Can't think of anything...
Location: The location is outside the heart of Rome, but still easily accessible and a nice refuge from all the hustle bustle of the city.
One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! Staff consistently goes out of their way to make their guests happy. Beautiful pool and grounds. Great restaurant and bar. Lovely grounds. Convenient shuttle to Trastevere or St. Peter's. Taxis on site at the ready. Nice rooms with tubs and legitimate A/C. Did not want to leave!!

Nice place to stayPosted Sep 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall a nice place to stay. Just 10-15 mins bus journey to city centre. Busses run frequently and are inexpensive. Nice pool area! Would stay again! Great for the price

I expected more for less.Posted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was very disappointed. the hotel is lovely but paying extra to watch films or listen to music is unwarrented. the location is poor. rome is a dirty city but this area was a little more run down and i was not that comfortable walking in the local area. the complimentary toilertries are chep amd nasty and the choclate was lovely but out of date.

Great hotel with lovely outdoor and heated indoorPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Nice setting. Quiet with lovely garden setting and pools. Staff at reception were helpful. indoor heated pool/spa was brilliant.
Cons: Shuttle bus to city centre goes to punto sisto which is quite far from city centre attractions and finishes at 9pm
Location: Quite far outside city centre but once you have mastered bus and/or metro system this is not a problem
Stayed here for a week. Great hotel to rekax in after a morning/afternoon's sightseeing, especially with spa and indoor pool. Bus shuttle service to Rome useful but afternoon service now drops you near Punto Sisto which is quite far from centre but all hotel buses seemed to be dropping off here. Room was clean and well serviced and overlooked pool. Only one restaurant nearby so be prepared to eat in Rome or at hotel. Snacks at bar or pool bar reasonably priced and generous so we often shared one meal.

Nice hotel, too far from the city centerPosted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: Comfortable rooms, complete amenities, very nice pool.
Cons: Run the shuttle bus with a longer shedule. Pool closes too early (20:00), especially with temperatures around 30C...
Location: Quiet neighborhood.
Nice comfortable hotel, too far from downtown for our taste, despite access to public transit. Clean and pleasant. Hotel shuttle has limited schedules, despite its usefulness. Coming back to the hotel to freshen up in late afternoon and go back out downtown is quite an undertaking. The hotel restaurant is extremely overpriced, and there are few decent restaurants in the neighborhood. Breakfast buffet at 18€ per person (14€ if reserved for the whole duration of the stay) is a non-starter for families. The search for food therefore became a sore point of our stay. Upon departure, we checked our bill, to find out that we had been charged mini-bar fees, as well as bar fees that had not been incurred. Although they were corrected, this did not create a favorable impression of our stay...
