Nice Hotel, But...

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast, softer beds, pillows
Location: Shop and Eat !
Check in was simple and quick, we were early and they managed to get both of our rooms ready for us. The hotel is located on the (2nd floor) although they say the 1st, long story re: this... it's a common thing in Rome. Elevator can take 2 people and luggage at a time. Our room must have been the smallest available, I am aware about the room sizes compared to North America, but this was small. The others in our party wanted to see our room, had to be 1 at a time. Not a big deal, but for the price we paid we didn't feel it was worth the cost. Our room is not seen on their website, just the nice big rooms. It can be a little noisy as well, other rooms, and the hallway. The room itself was clean and well decorated, bathrooms updated as well. Internet was at a ok speed, you get access to the mini bar (4 drinks - water, pop) once empty you have to pay for more items. The beds and pillows are very firm, a little softness would be welcomed. Breakfast was ok, selection was minimal and some items were empty for long periods of time, when refilled it would only last a few minutes and then be empty again. Always 2 people working, very pleasant but they seemed unable to keep up. The location was fantastic, restaurants, shopping always nearby, Terminal Station within 5 min walk, if you are up for it, 15-20 min walk and you are at the Colosseum. Would we stay here again ? If we had to, yes, nothing wrong really, just feel that other choices are out there and perhaps at a better price.

City Break

We had a 5 night stay at The Demetra Hotel an thoroughly enjoyed their great hospitality! The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of choice. Hotel was 5min walk to Termini Station and close to Metro to explore the amazing city of Rome.

A very nice hotel at a great price. It was convienient to the metro and train stations if you are traveling anywhere else. It is still within easy walking distance to all main sights.

Nice boutique hotel in central location.

Pros: Modern furnishings, staff, location, convenience to and from airport.
Cons: Smell of room. Food options at breakfast - the eggs were always cold.
We stayed at Demetra Hotel for 3 nights in October 2013. The hotel was fairly easy to find, 5 minutes walk from Via Marsala (where the airport shuttle buses stop next to Termini station). The inside looked very new and modern. The staff were lovely and spoke good English. There were a few steps to tackle to get to our room so I would definitely check first if stairs aren't your thing. The triple room was fairly spacious for 3 people. There was a queen bed and a single bed. The single bed was sectioned off behind a wall so it felt like a separate room. The room itself felt modern but rather basic. There was a safe and mini fridge in the room. The bathroom had a rain shower head. No bath tub. Toiletries were provided but the shampoo felt watered down. The room had a faint sewerage smell which seemed to improve when the aircon was on. We didn't complain as it didn't bother that much when the aircon was running. We had one window which didn't have much of a view. Location was very good. Walking distance to most sights. We walked a lot... It was about 10-15 minutes to the Colisseum and 20 minutes to Trevi Fountain. Catch the metro if you prefer, it's really easy. I thought Termini area would be dodgy but actually this was fine. There didn't seem to be any graffiti on this side of the station (nor were there threatening looking people). Breakfast was rather limited and the coffee wasn't great . Overall we would stay again and recommend this hotel.

Super convenient location, great place!

The location is just minutes away from the metro and bus tour stops. If walking is your pleasure, historic centre is just 10 minutes away. The breakfast was just superb. The staff were so helpful and professional. And the hotel itself is very modern and clean. Done in all-white Miami style.
