“Great Stay In Room”

First lets start with location...La Dolce Vita is within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions with the exception of the Vatican. A city bus which stops on the corner, will get you to the Vatican in less than 10 minutes.( If walking is your thing it can be done in about 20 minutes ). We stayed in the Audrey Hepburn room, which consists of a sitting area/kitchenette, a bathroom and a bedroom. The couch in the sitting area pulled out to a bed which my 12 and 15 year old had no trouble sharing. There is a TV for the kids. MTV is mostly in english everything else is in Italian. There is no dining area in the hotel. When we checked in I had to show our reservation which I had printed from expedia which showed that our breakfast was included. Each day they sent breakfast to our room from the cafe on the corner. There is no laundry in the hotel, however if you call one of the girls at the front desk they will pick up your laundry and have it returned to your room. The girls who work at the front desk are fantastic. They can help you with just about anything. I would especially recommend you ask there opinion concerning restaurants. Each place they sent us to was better then the last. Try Abruzzi, which is just around the corner. I would highly recommend La Dolce Vita.

“Excellent stay for a family”

We - me, my wife and our children (5, 10, and 15 y.o.) stayed at Dolce Vita Residence in March 2012 for 6 days. The hotel is very convenient for families. There were 3 rooms and kitchen in our appartment. The kitten was equipped with gas cooker, electric bakeoven, kettle, refrigerator, and even washing-machine. However, there was no microwave oven. Supermarket is quite close (~7 min walk), you can buy everything and cook, it saves a lot of money (restaurants in central Rome are quite expensive). Staff is very courteous and helpful.

“Great Room, Great Location, Reasonable Price”

Great hotel in a key part of the city; stayed in the "Audrey Hepburn" room. It is adjacent to the Piazza Venezia and Vittoria Emanuele II monument. It is hidden -- as many of them are -- down a small street off of a main throughway. Very easy to walk to many popular tourist sites such as the Coloseum, Ruins, Spanish Steps, etc. Also, it is close to shops and a number of excellent restaurants. The hotel is clean, very modern, and very comfortable. It is really well-described as a "Residence", as this is like having a small apartment in a key location in Rome. There is no hotel restaurant, but they do offer breakfast service to your room for a fee. You are better off going to one of the many cafe's in the neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were also genuinely helpful in trying to help tourists avoid the "tourist traps" which are numerous in Rome. If you are looking for a hotel with a great view out of your window, this is not the place to go. If you want a hotel with the amenities you find in a Westin, etc., this is not the place to go. However, step outside of the hotel, and you are in a great spot. That's what counts if you plan on spending your time exploring Rome. The price was very reasonable for the location and the size (one bedroom with separate sitting room, kitchenette, full bath) compared to others I could locate in the same area. Be sure to try Ristorante Abruzzi and Peroni which are very close by.

“Great location and friendly staff.”

We stayed at the Dolce Vita Residence on a recent 4 day trip to Rome. The hotel is perfectly located in old Rome and within walking distance of everything you would want to see while visiting this magnificent city. The staff were wonderful and so helpful. They even loaned us a electrical converter so we could charge our electronics and offered us umbrellas to take for the day when it was raining. I would without question stay at this property next time we visit Rome. It was absolutely wonderful from every aspect. Thanks!

“Great stay”

very trendy hotel. Was caught off guard by an extra charge that needed to be paid in cash, a city tax of 2 Eur per person per night, not included by Expedia.com. Bed was firm, but a usual european style. Air conditioning was a little on the fritz, but was comfortable.

“Great location and plenty of room”

Excellent location with plenty of room. We stayed 2 nights, but would be great for a longer stay. Close to all highlights if Rome. Taxi stand right there too.

“Awesome location”

The location of this hotel is awesome- it's in the heart of Rome. Don't worry about the fact that it is off a small alley just off the main road. We walked to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Emmanuel Monument. The Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, and Villa Borghese are just a short bus ride away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a two-story apartment (4th & 5th floor) which worked great for our family since we have older children. We spent some time in the evenings on our little balcony enjoying a glass of wine and the cooler evening air. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a market. The beds are firm, but we got used to them after the first couple of days. Overall, a really nice little hotel- we would stay here again.

This is a great choice for accommodations in Rome- comfortable, practical, well-priced, and a great location- a great alternative from a typical hotel.

“Very Nice”

A great updated smaller place to stay, right in the heart of Rome. Locked front door for security. Definitely a nice change from a large hotel.
